Jonathan Concepcion Eliminated in 10th Place ($69,730)

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Jonathan Concepción
Jonathan Concepción

The action folded to Stefan Schillhabel who limped in from the small blind and Jonathan Concepcion checked his option. The flop came {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Schillhabel led out for 14,000. Concepcion called and the {j-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

Schillhabel checked this time and Concepcion tossed in a bet of 25,000. Schillhabel made the call and the {6-Diamonds} put four diamonds on the board. Schillhabel checked and Concepcion pushed all in for just shy of 100,000. Schillhabel called and the cards were tabled.

Schillhabel showed {9-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Concepcion revealed the {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. Concepcion was under the impression that he won the pot with his seven-high flush, thinking that Schillhabel had called with two-pair instead of the rivered flush he had made with the {9-Diamonds}. The rest of the table pointed out that the winning hand was Schillhabel's, and Concepcion exited.

Seymour Gaining Ground

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

After Richard Seymour opened and Mikita Badziakouski made the call, the two checked a {3-Spades}{a-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop. The {j-Hearts} fell on the turn and Mikita Badziakouski bet 75,000. Seymour called to see the {7-Hearts} complete the board.

Badziakouski bet 125,000 and Seymour quickly called tabling the {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. Badziakouski nodded and mucked.

Negreanu Takes a Hit

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Jonathan Jaffe raised to 32,000 from under the gun and Daniel Negreanu defended his big blind. The flop came {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Negreanu check-called a continuation bet of 27,000 from Jaffe.

The turn brought the {a-Diamonds} and Negreanu led out for 35,000. Jaffe raised to 85,000 and Negreanu stuck around to see the {7-Clubs} on the river. Negreanu checked again and Jaffe pushed out a bet of 240,000. Negreanu made the call and Jaffe tabled {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a rivered flush.

Steffen Sontheimer Eliminated in 11th Place ($69,730)

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Steffen Sontheimer
Steffen Sontheimer

Steffen Sontheimer raised to 30,000 from the button, Jonathan Jaffe three-bet to 120,000 from the big blind, and Sontheimer called.

The flop came {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Jaffe bet 80,000. Sontheimer raised to 190,000, leaving himself just over 250,000 behind. Jaffe shoved to put Sontheimer to a decision for the remainder of his stack and he quickly called.

Steffen Sontheimer: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Jonathan Jaffe: {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

Sontheimer had the lead with his overpair and Jaffe needed help to stack him. The {2-Diamonds} turn changed nothing but the {7-Spades} river gave Jaffe trips, so he took the pot to send Sontheimer to the rail.

Bonomo Bets Big On Negreanu

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

A blind versus blind battle between Justin Bonomo and Daniel Negreanu saw 78,000 in the middle preflop. The flop fanned out {4-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Bonomo check-raised a bet of 20,000 by Negreanu to 90,000 and Negreanu called.

The {3-Spades} hit the turn and Bonomo led with a bet of 85,000. Negreanu called and the {10-Diamonds} completed the board. Bonomo fired a bet worth 275,000 and Negreanu folded.

Negreanu Remembering the Good Ol' Days

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

As Daniel Negreanu tossed his cards to the muck, he leaned back in his chair, stretched his arms, and gave out a big yawn.

"It's getting late for me," he said with a laugh. Negreanu scouted the two remaining tables and shouted to Richard Seymour sitting at the other table, "Hey Richard, how old are you?"

"38!" he responded. "You?"

"I'm 43. Was just making sure I'm still the senior in this thing." Negreanu continued the talk amongst the members at his table. "I remember when I used to be the young guy at the table. There was only like four or five of us. Nobody else that was 22 years old had any money."

Steffen Sontheimer piped up with a bit of a needle. "What percentage of the Super Seniors field do you know?" The table chuckled together as things continued to be light-hearted with a big $836,350 prize awaiting the winner.

Seymour Doubles Through Concepcion

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Richard Seymour
Richard Seymour

Jonathan Concepcion was on the button and got all the chips in the middle before the flop against Richard Seymour, who was in the small blind and had the smaller of the two stacks.

Jonathan Concepcion: {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Richard Seymour: {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Seymour had the preflop advantage and Concepcion needed to improve in order to eliminate him. Concepcion took the lead on the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop, but the {J-Clubs} turn and {Q-Hearts} river counterfeited Concepcion's flopped pair of tens, so Seymour took the pot with the better kicker to double up.
