Kennedy and Lewis Double

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Andrew Graham raised to 13,000 and called the shove of Christopher Kennedy for 121,500 after some consideration.

Christopher Kennedy: {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Andrew Graham: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

The board of {J-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{A-Clubs} provided the ace on the river to keep Kennedy in contention.

One table over, Toby Lewis three-bet all in for around 22 big blinds and Thomas Muehloecker looked him up with the {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. Lewis held the dominating pocket pair with {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and the board of {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{2-Hearts} brought no upset.

Adams Takes a Big One Off Ropert

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Joining the action on the {Q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts} turn, Corentin Ropert checked and called a hefty bet of 100,000 by Brandon Adams. The duo then headed to the {7-Spades} river and Ropert checked once more. Adams fired a bet of 160,000 and the camera crews gathered around the table, sensing a pivotal pot and possible new chip leader.

Ropert gave it some thought, but ended up releasing his cards into the muck. While Adams may not be in the lead right now, he is certainly among the biggest stacks in the room and turned his late entry before the start of Day 2 into a tremendous opportunity.

Sebesta Runs the Nuts

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Theo Da Cruz Lima jammed under the gun for about 80,000 and Ed Sebesta called when it folded to him in the big blind, showing {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}. He was fading three outs as Lima had {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}. The {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{a-Hearts} flop meant Sebesta had to catch up now, but the {5-Hearts} gave him more cards to hit. The {9-Hearts} was one of his outs and he celebrated with relief.

Always a Sweat

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Marc-Andre Ladouceur moved all in from early position and was called by Will Failla out of the blinds.

Ladouceur had the {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and faced the {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} of Failla. The {Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop all but sealed the fate of Ladouceur, but he had backdoor diamonds or aces as outs. The {9-Diamonds} turn was indeed a sweat, but the {2-Clubs} river bricked off.

Benger Looking for the Lead

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

The action folded around to Sven McDermott in the small blind who just limped in. Griffin Benger checked his option in the big blind and the two players saw a flop of {k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. McDermott led out for 8,000 and Benger made the call.

The turn brought the {k-Diamonds} and McDermott made another small bet of 9,000. Benger still called and the {5-Clubs} completed the board. McDermott tossed in a bet of 15,000 and Benger bumped it up to 52,000. McDermott instantly mucked his cards and Benger raked in another pot to close in on the chip lead.

Heath Flops a Boat

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Ben Heath jammed for 97,000 on the button and Vladas Tamasauskas carefully checked his stack before making the call out of the big blind.

Ben Heath: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Vladas Tamasauskas: {A-Clubs}{7-Spades}

"I am all in," Heath indicated to nearby Jack Salter, who jumped over and immediately said "oh, you even have the jack of clubs." Sure enough, the flop rolled off {J-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs} to give Heath a full house. The {K-Clubs} turn and {7-Hearts} river were a mere formality.

Ferreira Cracks Aces

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Just after the last hands of the night were announced, Rui Ferreira and Samuel Gonzalez Mohino Gomez got into a raising war and the latter ended up being the one to move all in. Ferreira called it off to put himself at risk for the following showdown.

Rui Ferreira: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Samuel Gonzalez Mohino Gomez: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}

The {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop was some magic for Ferreira, who improved to the nut flush. After the {2-Clubs} turn, the massive double was secured and the {7-Spades} river represented a mere formality.

While Ferreira jumped to an impressive stack thanks to that double, it is just shy of half of Farid Jattin's monster stack on the same table and the Colombian battles with Mustapha Kanit for the overnight chip lead.
