Mercier Takes From Hissou

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Natasha Mercier raised to 2,500 in middle position and picked up one caller in Sirzat Hissou in the big blind. Hissou checked the {Q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop and called a continuation bet worth 2,500 before doing so again for 5,100 on the {J-Clubs} turn. After the {6-Clubs} river, Hissou checked once more and Barbour made it 15,100 to go.

Hissou gave it some thought and sent his cards into the muck to drop back to starting stack, while Mercier is slowly but surely closing the gap.

Jacobson Doubles Through Soyza

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Michael Soyza and Martin Jacobson were heads-up in a pot with the board reading {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. Soyza checked from under the gun and Jacobson fired out a large bet of 20,000 into a pot of around 15,000. Soyza called and the {j-Hearts} completed the board.

Soyza checked again and Jacobson shipped all in for 30,600. Soyza snapped him off but Jacobson turned over {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} for a set of fours. Soyza flashed {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for two pair before his cards hit the muck and his chips were sent across the table.

Collilas Takes From van Zadelhoff

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The flop showed {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Ramon Collilas checked to Steven van Zadelhoff, who bet 9,000 and picked up a call. On the {J-Hearts} turn both players opted to check and the {Q-Spades} fell on the river.

Collilas checked once more and van Zadelhoff made it 20,500 to go. Collilas dropped in a single chip for the call and van Zadelhoff turned over {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for queens and jacks. Collilas had that beat with {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for trips queens and van Zadelhoff nodded "that will do."

Carpenter Doubles Through Stokkan

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Cash Carpenter shoved for about 28,000 over an open from Davidi Kitai in middle position. Carpenter was in the small blind and big blind Preben Stokkan needed some thinking time. We didn't see whether he shoved himself or just called, but either way, he put Carpenter at risk with Kitai folding quickly.

Cash Carpenter: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Preben Stokkan: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, so Carpenter paired up and then faded a turned straight draw to double.
