Ho Chips Up; Ferreira Wins With King-High

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

In the last hand before the break on neighboring tables, Jean Ferreira and Maria Ho chipped up to boost their stack.

Ferreira was involved in a three-bet pot against Brian Altman and called the check-raise of Altman on the {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop. The {A-Diamonds} turn and the {A-Hearts} river brought no action and the 7,000 pot was shipped to Ferreira, as Altman's {8-Spades}{6-Spades} were no good against the {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades} of Ferreira.

Ho, who is now on the seat that previously belonged fellow Maria [Konnikova] - she was moved to another table a few minutes ago - took on Kevin Rabichow. More than 10,000 were in the middle and the completed board showed {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Rabichow called a bet of 5,000 by Ho and mucked when he was shown the {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for two pair.

Michaelis Missing; Eiler Thriving

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Andreas Eiler
Andreas Eiler

While Andreas Eiler has had a rocky start, he more than made up for it and now boasts a stack of 77,000. His table previously featured Paul Michaelis, but the latest player to lift the EPT Main Event trophy has been eliminated by Eiler.

In the previous level, Michaelis raised 300 and called a three-bet to 1,200 by Eiler from one seat over on the button. On a {K-}{6-}{3-} flop with two diamonds, Michaelis check-raised to 700 to 2,600 and Eiler called to see another king on the turn. Michaelis bet and Eiler called. After the {2-Diamonds} river, Michaelis jammed for 17,500 with pocket treys for a full house to get snap-called by Eiler with kings for quads.

While Michaelis can re-enter today still, he will likely take the rest of the day off and try again tomorrow.

Newey Takes From Rogers

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

John Rogers limped under the gun. Paul Newey, in middle position, raised to 700. Action folded back to Newey who called.

The dealer spread a flop of {8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Rogers checked. Newey bet 800. Rogers check-called.

The turn brought the {6-Hearts} and Rogers check-called again a bet of 1,900 from Newey.

The {3-Hearts} river completed the board and Rogers checked for a third time. Newey threw in a bet of 6,200. Rogers gave up his hand.

Joey Couden
Joey Couden

Joining the action on the turn of {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, PokerStars qualifier Georgy Philippovich bet 2,500 out of the big blind and Joey Weissman folded in late position, while Joey Couden called in the hijack. The {9-Spades} appeared on the river and Philippovich now bet 6,500. Couden raised to 21,000 with 18,000 behind and that forced a fold from his opponent.

The table also features Abdelhakim Zoufri and Adrien Delmas, who is surrounded by a full Winamax camera crew.
