Kharkov Makes A Loose Call

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Eli Ross raised to 9,000, Alexander Kharkov called one seat over and Ben Yu called from the cutoff. [Removed:510], on the button, rose up from his chair to check what was happening at the other tables. He then shoved all in for 45,000.

Ross folded, Kharkov called with relative ease, and Yu folded after some thought.

[Removed:510]: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Alexander Kharkov: {J-Spades}{8-Spades}

"Ooh!" Trofimov and Kharkov both exclaimed and they laughed. Kharkov, who was chip leader for a long-time today, found a connection on the {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop but Trofimov faded the spades on the {7-Hearts} turn and {4-Hearts} river.

"Man, what a sweat against you!" Trofimov said in relief. "Even with this, I don't want a call," he said, pointing at his kings.

Lew Doubles Through Kenney

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Randy Lew in the big blind and Bryn Kenney in early position created a pot of 80,000 until the {J-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} river and Lew checked his option. Kenney shoved for 121,000 and Lew was deep in the think tank. After more than three minutes he called and Kenney showed {K-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for a bluff, Lew doubled for 100,500 with {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

One hand later, Kenney jammed for the rest of it and got through with the move. He grabbed his cards and flashed {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} with a big grin on the face.

Campana Slowly Building

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Eder Campana limped from the small blind. Ben Yu, in the big blind, checked.

The dealer spread a flop of {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Campana checked. Yu bet 4,000. Campana check-called.

The turn was the {a-Diamonds} and was checked through to the {6-Spades} river. Campana fired 14,000. Yu quickly folded.

Kempe Comes up Short

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Rainer Kempe
Rainer Kempe

In one of the first hand after the dinner break, Rainer Kempe open-shoved from the small blind and Eder Takashi Murata called in the big blind.

Rainer Kempe: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Eder Takashi Murata: {A-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

Kempe was in a great spot to double-up but faith would have it otherwise as the board ran out {4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, pairing Murata on the turn. The German, winner of the $50k Single-Day High Roller earlier this week and Day 1b chip leader, will miss out on a money finish.

Dinner Break

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The remaining players are headed on a 75-minute dinner break. With the tournament clock showing 132 players left, we are now close to the money bubble. Action will resume at approximately 8.24 p.m. local time.

Easy Double for Furbert

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

In the final hand before the dinner break, Andre Akkari raised to 6,500 from under the gun and Pavel Veksler called. Chris Furbert shoved 21,500 to Veksler's left, Akkari reraised to 48,500 and Veksler got out.

Chris Furbert: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}
Andre Akkari: {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Furbert's outlook was already great and he even caught the case jack to make the rundown a formality: {J-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{4-Clubs}.

Three Barrels by Plesuv

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Pavel Plesuv
Pavel Plesuv

Anthony Zinno made it 6,000 to go and Pavel Plesuv on the button three-bet to 20,000, which Zinno called. On a flop of {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, Zinno checked and subsequently called a first barrel for 13,000 before doing so again for 45,000 on the {J-Hearts} turn.

Zinno then checked the {Q-Spades} river and Plesuv moved all in for effectively 165,000, as that's what Zinno had left. That earned the pot for the number #1 of the Moldovian all-time money list without showdown, as Zinno elected to fold.
