Death By Quads for Gathy

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Michael Gathy
Michael Gathy

Michael Gathy jammed the button for 37,000 and Sam Greenwood reshoved out of the small blind to isolate.

Michael Gathy: {J-Spades}{9-Spades}
Sam Greenwood: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

The {Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop instantly gave Greenwood the check mark with quads, making the {K-Spades} turn and {J-Clubs} river meaningless.

However, the fortune of Greenwood only lasted a few minutes as he ended up second-best with {A-Spades}{3-Hearts} against the {7-Clubs}{7-Spades} of Aleksandr Gofman. On a board of {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, Gofman doubled for 100,000 and Greenwood was sent back to a severe short stack.

Aleksandr Gofman: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Michael Gathy: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}

Gofman remained best on {9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for a little breathing room.

Munoz Busts to Ditz

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Franz Ditz opened to 14,000 in the hijack and short stack Ramon Miquel Munoz jammed on the button, Ditz called and the cards were on their backs while the camera crews rushed by.

Ramon Miquel Munoz: {A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Franz Ditz: {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop gave Ditz top two and Munoz knuckled the table in defeat on the {7-Diamonds} turn, as he was already drawing dead. A meaningless {2-Clubs} on the river was a mere formality and the Spaniard headed to the payout desk.

Rheem Jams Into Stembera; Bianchi Fires Two Barrels

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Chino Rheem opened and was called by Michael Stembera to see a flop of {Q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, which brought a bet of 9,000 by Rheem and a call by Stembera. On the {10-Hearts} turn, Rheem check-raised from 15,000 to 39,000 and Stembera called to see the {5-Diamonds} on the river. Rheem moved all in and Stembera quickly folded.

One table over, Chase Bianchi in the small blind three-bet an open by Tommy Nguyen on the button to 42,000 and Nguyen called. Bianchi continued on the {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop for 36,000 to receive a call. A second barrel on the {J-Spades} for 72,000 did the trick to force a fold.

Scott Wellenbach: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
