Benger Fades Quads

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Three players saw a {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} together with Griffin Benger last to act. He bet 4,4000 and an unknown player from the blinds was the only caller.

The {7-Clubs} on the turn got checked by both players and another {7-Hearts} rolled off on the river. Benger faced a bet of 9,300 and ultimately laid it down; a sound decision as his opponent casually rolled over {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for quad sevens.

Tang Doubles Up

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Danny Tang was down to 8,500 and open-shoved those from middle position with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. His left-hand neighbor came over the top with {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} but an easy hold for the #5 on the Hendon Mob Hong Kong all-time money list.

Oliveira Makes the Wrong Call

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Filipe Oliveira had 6,000 in front of him on a {J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{8-Clubs} board, to which Michel Dattani responded with an all-in shove. Oliveira, with 22,000 behind, gave it two minutes before calling his countryman off with {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}.

Dattani showed him the bad news with {10-Spades}{9-Spades} for the rivered straight and Oliveira was out.

Baldwin Takes Down Rezaei

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Eric Baldwin (at the PSPC)
Eric Baldwin (at the PSPC)

One of the biggest pots of the tournament so far happened over at table 8, where the cards were already on their backs. The board read {3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and a sizable bet on the river had gone in, which was for Rezaei's tournament life.

Baldwin had {A-Spades}{J-Spades} in front of him for trip jacks. Rezaei had {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for jacks and tens and the 80k pot went to the American.
