Battle of the Giuseppes; Watson Folds Out Grafton

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Action was caught on the {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} board, with around 105,000 in the pot. Giuseppe Iadisernia jammed for 167,000 from the small blind and Giuseppe Pantaleo went deep into the tank from the big blind.

He apologized several times for taking his time and eventually folded and flashed his {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} while doing so.

The very next hand, Sam Grafton opened to 16,000 from under the gun and was only called by Mike Watson.

On the {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop, Watson check-raised to 31,000 after Grafton bet 11,000. The PokerStars ambassador called.

Watson continued for 26,000 on the {2-Spades} turn and this time Grafton returned his cards to the dealer.

Michael Gathy
Michael Gathy

Sergi Reixach raised to 18,000 from the cutoff before Alex Kulev three-bet to 72,000 from the small blind. Michael Gathy moved all in from the big blind for 82,000. Both Reixach and Kulev called.

The flop came {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Kulev check called the 40,000 bet from Reixach.

The {10-Hearts} was the turn and Kulev checked. Reixach fired 100,000 which caused Kulev to fold.

Michael Gathy: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Sergi Reixach: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

Gathy was in rough shape and needed a king to survive as Reixach had flopped a set. The river came an uneventful {9-Clubs} which eliminated Gathy from the tournament and moved Reixach to over a million chips.
