Smith Doubles Through Pardo

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Daniel Smith
Daniel Smith

Juan Pardo raised to 6,000 in the cutoff, receiving a single caller in Dan Smith out of the big blind. What followed was a check-call by Smith on the {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop which he then repeated on the {9-Clubs} turn albeit for 35,000.

Smith checked the {4-Spades} on the river and Pardo inquired to see his stack size. "One hundred seventy five in black," Smith replied and Pardo used one time bank extension. He then piled in all his large chip denominations for the covering stack.

Smith double-checked his cards and announced the call. Pardo was caught with the fingers in the cookie jar as {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} were a bluff gone wrong, while Smith doubled for 205,000 with the {k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for two pair.

Badziakouski In the Danger Zone Once More

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Mikita Badziakouski bet the heads-up river of {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for 8,000 in the big blind, Justin Bonomo on the button sighed, yawned and eventually called. Badziakouski briefly showed his cards but the {a-Hearts}{3-Spades} of Bonomo won the pot.

Shortly after, joint short stack Isaac Haxton raised to 6,000 and received calls by Badziakouski in the small blind and Steve O'Dwyer in the big blind. The {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop was checked to Haxton, who continued for 12,000. Badziakouski called for almost a third of his remaining stack while O'Dwyer folded.

The {2-Diamonds} turn brought a check from Badziakouski and Haxton ripped it in for 47,000 with the covering stack. No call by Badziakouski followed, as he dropped below ten blinds.

Three-Bet Pot for Pardo

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Kathy Lehne got a shove for 76,500 through on a completed board of {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{a-Spades}{9-Spades} as David Peters briefly considered the options but let go on the button.

At the same time on the second table, Juan Pardo raised to 7,000 and Timothy Adams three-bet to 20,000 in the hijack. The call by Pardo led to the {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop on which the Spaniard checked. Adams bet 9,500 but folded when he was met by a check-raise to 22,500.

Mateos Chips Up With Kings

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

Timothy Adams defended the big blind against the under-the-gun raise of Adrian Mateos and check-called a first bet on the {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop. After the {3-Spades} turn, Adams check-called for another 8,000 and both then checked down the {j-Clubs} on the river.

Adams tabled the {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a pair of tens but Mateos had the best of it holding {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for the overpair.

Peters Wins Significant Pots Off Badziakouski and Bonomo

Level 8 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Mikita Badziakouski check-raised a {q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop from 13,500 to 35,000 and David Peters called, which led them to the {7-Diamonds} on the turn. Badziakouski bet 40,000 and Peters stuck around.

The {k-Hearts} river was checked and Badziakouski revealed {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for a missed gutshot and rivered top pair. However, Peters had the best of it with the {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for two pair to win the pot.

Shortly after, Peters bet the {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop and Justin Bonomo came along. The {3-Clubs} turn went check, check, and Peters bet the {2-Diamonds} river for 19,000. Bonomo seemed somewhat frustrated while he instantly grabbed a single T-25,000 chip for a potential call.

Mulling it over for 15 seconds, Bonomo then made the call but couldn't beat the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} of Peters.

Shakerchi Rises; Chidwick Wins a Pot

Level 8 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick had taken a bigger hit as the stack of Talal Shakerchi had grown significantly once the field was balanced to two tables only.

Chidwick was then involved in three-way action to the {j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} turn on which he bet 19,000 and forced two folds.

Dvoress Continues his Rampage

Level 8 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Nick Petrangelo
Nick Petrangelo

Nick Petrangelo got his stack in preflop with the {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and ran it smack dab into the {a-Clubs}{a-Spades} of Daniel Dvoress.

The {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop provided some hope with a gutshot for Petrangelo but he found no fortunate escape after the {7-Clubs} turn and {5-Clubs} river runout.

"Running pretty good," Marius Gierse mentioned. The German got a short stack three-bet jam against Adrian Mateos through only to then also bust to Dvoress for fewer than 20 blinds when his {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} couldn't crack kings on a queen-high board with three diamonds.

Badziakouski Back Above the Starting Stack

Level 8 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Three ways to the {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop, it checked to Mikita Badziakouski and he made it 10,000 to go. Isaac Haxton folded but Justin Bonomo stuck around to then check the {7-Clubs} on the turn. Badziakouski made it 25,000 to go and took down the pot uncontested.
