Gierse Doubles Through Lehne

Level 7 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Marius Gierse
Marius Gierse

Marius Gierse got a short stack shove through and then saw Daniel Dvoress with a raise to 5,500 in the cutoff, which Nick Petrangelo in the small blind called. On a {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop, Petrangelo check-called for 4,500 and the {6-Spades} turn was checked by both.

Petrangelo then led the {6-Hearts} river for 26,000 and Dvoress folded.

In the next hand, Gierse jammed for 26,500 from the small blind and Kathy Lehne called in the big blind.

Marius Gierse: {q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Kathy Lehne: {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Lehne picked up a ton of outs on the {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop but somehow bricked the {k-Hearts} turn and {8-Diamonds} river, as Gierse held onto his very narrow lead.

Dvoress Prevails in Showdown Against Lehne

Level 7 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

Adrian Mateos made it 5,500 to go from under the gun and Kathy Lehne called out of the small blind, as did Daniel Dvoress in the big blind. They all checked the {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop and Lehne bet the {j-Hearts} turn for 10,000, which only Dvoress called.

After the {3-Spades} river, both checked and Lehne revealed {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a pair of sixes. Dvoress had that beat with the {9-Spades}{8-Spades} and earned yet another pot to increase his lead.

Gierse Left Short; Chidwick Wins Three-Bet Pot

Level 7 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Timothy Adams raised to 6,500 and Stephen Chidwick in the big blind three-bet to 30,000 for Adams to call. They headed to the {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop and Chidwick's bet won the pot right there.

At the same time one table over, Nick Petrangelo in the cutoff and Marius Gierse on the button checked the {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{j-Spades} turn. After the {j-Clubs} river, Petrangelo checked again and then called Gierse's bet of 30,000. The German tabled {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} but Petrangelo had the superior kicker with {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

"That's it," Gierse sighed in German to his rail consisting of Justin Steinbrenner and Killian Kramer.

Mateos Takes Small Pot Off Petrangelo

Level 7 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

In a limped battle of the blinds to the {8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Spades} flop, Adrian Mateos check-raised from 2,500 to 8,500 and received a call by Nick Petrangelo. The {k-Spades} on the turn was checked by both and Mateos overbet the {q-Clubs} river for 75,000.

Petrangelo was covered by that bet and folded instantly.

Final Break of the Night

Level 6 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Six levels have been completed and the final 15 players out of 22 entries have been sent on the second and last scheduled 20-minute break of the night. Another four levels of 30 minutes each are to be played when the action resumes.

Mateos Chips Up Against Lehne

Level 6 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Heads-up to a flop of {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}, Adrian Mateos check-raised from 7,000 to 21,000 and Kathy Lehne made the call. The {4-Clubs} fell on the turn and Mateos' bet of 18,000 got rid of Lehne.

One table over, the flop showed {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} in a three-bet pot between Talal Shakerchi and Juan Pardo. Shakerchi checked and subsequently called a bet of 10,000 to see the {7-Spades} on the turn. He checked again and Pardo's next barrel for 36,000 won the pot uncontested.

Non-Showdown Pot for Petrangelo

Level 6 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Nick Petrangelo has been hovering on a shorter stack for a while and defended his big blind against an under-the-gun raise by Marius Gierse. Without any major action to the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{j-Hearts} river, Petrangelo used one time bank extension before making his next move.

He then bet 16,500 into 21,000 and Gierse gave up the pot.
