Two Re-Entries Back in the Mix

Level 6 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

David Peters and Isaac Haxton both re-entered in quick succession to bring the field up to 22 entries and 15 players remaining. Both drew table one and that may require balancing, as table two currently runs four-handed.

Katz Vanishes in Two Hands

Level 6 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Cary Katz could all but sigh and smile when Talal Shakerchi scored a double holding the {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, which made fours full of eights on the {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. The cards of Katz were already mucked and he had to forfeit 57,000.

Left with a mere 30,500, the remainder went into the middle shortly after and Timothy Adams looked him up.

Cary Katz: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Timothy Adams: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop improved Adams and he retained the lead throughout the {8-Diamonds} turn as well as the {9-Clubs} river.

Lehne Chips Up; Haxton Felted by Pardo

Level 6 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton

In a battle of the blinds to the {k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Spades} river, Kathy Lehne bet 35,000 out of the small blind. Daniel Dvoress called in the big blind and mucked when he was shown the {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for trips sixes.

At almost the same time, the heads-up turn of {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} saw Isaac Haxton check out of the small blind over on table one. Juan Pardo bet 18,000 in the cutoff and Haxton called with some 110,000 behind. The {2-Spades} river was checked by Haxton and Pardo waved with his hand to see the stack of his opponent.

Utilising one time bank extension, Pardo then piled in all his large chip denominations and Haxton eventually called all-in. The Spaniard tabled {a-Spades}{k-Spades} for trips kings with an ace kicker, sending Haxton to the rail as he only had the {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for an inferior kicker.

Dvoress Jams Into Gierse

Level 6 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

In a rather small pot of just 20,000 to the {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts} river, Daniel Dvoress bet 7,000 out of the small blind. Marius Gierse in the cutoff raised to 40,000 and Dvoress studied his opponent before moving all in, forcing a quick fold from Gierse.

Peters The Next To Fall

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

David Peters was the next player to lose the remainder of his short stack and the cards were almost gone.

His {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} was dominated by the {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} of Isaac Haxton and the superior pair held despite a sweat on the {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{q-Clubs} runout to reduce the field to 15 players out of 19 entries for the time being.

Smith Takes From Shakerchi Once More

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Dan Smith bet 5,000 into 17,000 on a {q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop and Talal Shakerchi check-called. The {5-Spades} followed on the turn and Shakerchi check-called for another 15,000 which led them to the {8-Clubs} river.

Shakerchi now bet 36,000 and Smith asked "how much is the bet?" as he glanced up while enjoying a massage at the table. Once the bet sizing was confirmed by the dealer, Smith called and Shakerchi revealed {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a busted flush draw.

Smith earned the pot with {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and continued his rise on the leaderboard.

Chidwick Doubles Through Shakerchi

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Three ways to the {k-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop with some 30,000 in the middle, the action checked to Talal Shakerchi and he bet 11,000. Cary Katz check-called and Stephen Chidwick then check-raised to 26,000. Shakerchi reraised to more than 150,000 as that had both opponents covered.

Katz folded and Chidwick called all-in for 68,000.

Stephen Chidwick: {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}
Talal Shakerchi: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}

The {2-Hearts} turn locked up the double of Chidwick and that made the {6-Diamonds} river a formality.

More for Smith and Mateos; Davies Out

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Daniel Smith
Daniel Smith

Adrian Mateos three-bet an open raise by Daniel Dvoress from 4,000 to 13,000 and received a call by the early chip leader. The {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop was checked by Dvoress, who then called a bet worth 6,500. Both checked through the {q-Diamonds} turn and {7-Spades} river as Dvoress exposed the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, which Mateos had beat holding {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}.

One table over, a larger pot had emerged already by the time the completed board showed {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades}{a-Clubs}. Dan Smith used a time bank extension before he bet 55,000 and Shakerchi called within a few seconds.

Smith turned over the {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a flopped straight and that won the pot.

Moments later, Seth Davies was spotted on his way out of the tournament area as his chips now belonged to Steve O'Dwyer.

Showdown Pot for Bonomo Against Adams

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

With just 13,000 in the middle to the {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} turn, Justin Bonomo and Timothy Adams then invested 36,000 each to see the {2-Diamonds} on the river complete a possible flush draw.

Bonomo checked and Adams checked it back, with the former showing {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a straight as the winning hand.

In the meanwhile, the field size has increased to 19 entries as Marius Gierse entered and took a seat over on table three.
