Thorel Hits Miracle River to Double Through Mikolaitis

Level 24 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Jean-Noel Thorel
Jean-Noel Thorel

Jean-Noel Thorel open-jammed a stack of 910,000 on the button and Dominykas Mikolaitis re-shoved from the small blind to get things heads-up.

Jean-Noel Thorel: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Dominykas Mikolaitis: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Thorel stood from his seat as the flop came {k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} to pair Mikolaitis' king, though the {10-Spades} turn gave him additional hope with a gutshot. The river wasn't a nine, but it was the {j-Spades} to give Thorel a set and Mikolaiti gave a defeated sigh after doubling the Frenchman.

"Oooh! Pop-pop-pop-ohhh!" celebrated Thorel.

Daniel Dvoress Eliminated in 10th Place ($75,300)

Level 24 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

Justin Bonomo raised to 325,000 from the small blind and Daniel Dvoress three-bet jammed a stack of around 2,000,000 from the big blind. Bonomo called with a bigger stack.

Daniel Dvoress: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Justin Bonomo: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Dvoress couldn't pull ahead as the board ran out {10-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} to mark the Canadian's elimination on the final table bubble.

"GG," Dvoress said as he stood up.

Joao Vieira Eliminated in 11th Place ($75,300)

Level 24 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

Joao Vieira and Carlos Chadha got it all in preflop, with Vieira at risk of elimination.

Joao Vieira: {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Carlos Chadha: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

"Nice," Daniel Dvoress said when he saw Vieira had the lucky hand.

"I know, I was hoping to get more callers!" Vieira laughed.

When the flop came out {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs}, the table couldn't help but laughing, as Chadha was in the lead with his pair of jacks but Vieira now had a straight draw.

Unfortunately for him, Vieira failed to connect with the {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} runout and he was eliminated in 11th Place.

John Krpan Eliminated in 13th Place; Brandon Wilson Eliminated in 12th Place ($65,500)

Level 23 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
John Krpan
John Krpan

Brandon Wilson limped in from the cutoff and John Krpan moved all in from the small blind with a micro stack. Rui Ferreira bumped it up to 300,000 from the big blind and Wilson called.

Ferreira bet 200,000 on the flop of {j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Wilson raised all in with a stack of around 900,000. Ferreira quickly called.

John Krpan: {q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Brandon Wilson: {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Rui Ferreira: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Neither opponent could crack kings as the board finished out {a-Spades}{9-Clubs} and the chip leader increased his lead with the double knockout.

Chad Eveslage Eliminated in 14th Place ($56,950)

Level 23 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Chad Eveslage
Chad Eveslage

Chad Eveslage, Daniel Dvoress, and Mario Mosboeck all got it in preflop, with Mosboeck covering.

Chad Eveslage: {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Daniel Dvoress: {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Mario Mosboeck: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Mosboeck was in a good position to score a double knockout, but the flop of {j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} proved otherwise as Dvoress flopped the nut straight.

"Wow, didn't realize we were playing short-deck," Dvoress joked at his good fortune.

The board completed with the {3-Clubs} turn and the {4-Clubs} on the river as an added needle to Eveslage as he hit his set of fours and was eliminated in 14th place.

"You just gotta know which hands are hot, and queen-ten is hot," tablemate Justin Bonomo chimed in as Dvoress was pushed the pot for a triple-up.
