Sean Winter Holds Over Jason Koon

Level 11 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Sean Winter at the 2017 WSOP

Sean Winter raised to 15,000 under the gun and Jason Koon called from the button. Daniel Negreanu came along from the big blind and it was three-way action to the {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{q-Spades} flop.

Negreanu checked, Winter continued for 16,000, and only Koon called to see the {7-Hearts} turn, which both players checked.

When the {3-Spades} paired the board on the river, Winter led out for 55,000 and Koon moved all in. Winter snap-called off for 132,500 total with the {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}, which best the {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flush of Koon.

Rainer Kempe Survives David Peters

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

A short-stacked Rainer Kempe moved all in for 27,500 from middle position and David Peters called from the cutoff. The rest of the players folded and the hands were turned up.

Kempe: {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Peters: {k-Spades}{9-Spades}

Kempe needed some help, but there wasn't much to be had on the {2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{j-Clubs} flop. The e{3-Clubs} turn gave Kempe a flush draw, and he made it when the {10-Clubs} spiked on the river.

Daniel Negreanu on a Heater

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Daniel Negreanu re-entered during the break, and within 19 minutes of play resuming he's worked his 125,000 starting stack up to 480,000.

He managed to double it right away with ace-king against the ace-ten suited of Justin Bonomo.

Not long after, Negreanu got it in again, this time with pocket tens against the ace-king of Dan Smith. The pocket pair held and just like that Negreanu sits among the chip leaders.

Brian Rast Done in By Ben Tollerene

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Ben Tollerene won a flip with pocket tens to double through the king-queen of Brian Rast, and one hand later he finished off his opponent.

It happened when action folded to Tollerene in the small blind and he simply moved all in to put the pressure on Rast, who was sitting with 13,000. The 2015 Super High Roller Bowl champ called off and the hands were turned up.

Rast: {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Tollerene: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Rast was drawing to two live cards, but neither appeared as the board instead ran out a dry {4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{k-Spades}{7-Spades}.

Big Slick Does't Do the Trick for Keith Lehr

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Keith Lehr got his stack of approximately 100,000 all in preflop and was up against the cowboys of Koray Aldemir.

Lehr: {a-}{k-}
Aldemir: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Lehr's best shot at surviving was to catch an ace, but he was left wanting as the board ran out an unhelpful {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

Adrian Mateos Dispatches Jake Schindler

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Jake Schindler during the 2017 SHRB
Jake Schindler during the 2017 SHRB

Jake Schindler, who got off to a hot start in this tournament only to cool off in the middle stages, got his last 40,000 all in preflop and found himself at risk against Adrian Mateos.

Mateos: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Schindler: {a-Spades}{4-Clubs}

Schindler was in need of some help, but it never came as the board ran out a useless {6-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{7-Clubs}. With that, Schindler was officially eliminated from Event #1 of the 2017 Poker Masters.
