Peters Eliminated by Hyman's Straight

Level 8 : 2,000/4,000, 3,000 ante

Scott Seiver opened with a raise in the hijack before David Peters three-bet to 21,000 from the button. Matt Hyman called in the big blind, as did Seiver to see a {J-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop.

Peters then found himself all in holding {J-Spades}{10-Clubs} against Hyman's {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} as Seiver mucked.

With Peters in the lead, the turn landed the {K-Spades} to see Hyman improve to a straight, and when the river landed the {6-Hearts}, Peters was eliminated and Hyman climbed over 500,000 in chips.

Smith: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Chidwick: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

Level 7 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

From under the gun, Matt Hyman opened to 7,000 and Bryn Kenney three-bet to 19,000 next to act.

The action folded back to Hyman, and he called as the flop landed {Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}.

Hyman checked, Kenney bet 12,000, and Hyman called as the turn landed the {6-Clubs}.

Hyman checked, Kenney bet 25,500, and Hyman folded his hand.

Koon Eliminates the Poker Masters Event #1 Champ

Level 7 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Nick Schulman
Nick Schulman

Nick Schulman, who won Event #1 of the Poker Masters for $918,000, got his stack of roughy 80,000 all in preflop and found himself racing against Jason Koon.

Koon: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Schulman: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Schulman was looking to hold, and he did so on the {5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop. Unfortunately for him, the dealer burned and turned the {Q-Spades} to pair Koon. The {2-Clubs} river was of no consequence and Schulman hit the rail.
