Embleton With a Boat, But Out Shortly After

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Daniel Embleton was all-in pre-flop against Michael Brahim. Embleton with pocket queens, Brahim with ace-jack.

The flop of {q-Hearts}{10-}{9-} with the queen in the window looked good initially for Embleton, but only for a split second, as it also gave Brahim the up and down straight draw.

The turn was {k-} and Brahim had hit the straight, but the river {10-} filled up Embleton and he doubled up to around 100,000.

The relief was short-lived though, as he was knocked out shortly after, running into pocket aces.

Aces vs Kings

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

With Michael Oscuro {k-}{k-} on the button and Paul Tartak {a-}{a-} in the small blind, Tartak was all-in.

The board of {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} {10-} {9-Hearts} was good for Tartak, with his aces holding.

"He's been 3-betting me all day and I finally had a hand to play back with" said Oscuro.

Aces Cracked

Level 15 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

On a board of {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} {5-Spades}, Marco Perri bet 33,000 and Marc Seymour who was in the blinds check-called. The river was {4-Spades}, and after Seymour checked again, Perri bet 100,000. Seymour called.

Perri: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Seymour: {5-}{6-}

Seymour dragged in the pot and left Perri with around 135,000.

Overnight Leader Out

Level 15 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

The chip leader coming in to Day 2, Dean Boskovic Sr, has been eliminated from the Main Event by Josh Norvock. Norvock took the last 45,000 chips from Boskovic, who just couldn't seem to get any momentum going on Day 2.

Chop It Up

Level 15 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Marc Liddell in the small blind shoved for all of it, 71,000, to be at risk. Kiavash Arbabi in the big blind thought for some time, then made the call.

Liddell: {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Ababi: {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Liddell was dominated, and when the flop came {k-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{j-Hearts}, Abibi was looking in good shape to take him out. But with the turn {k-Hearts}, a chop became a distinct possibility and the river {10-Clubs} confirmed the pot would be chopped and Liddell survived.

Checking a Straight Flush on the River

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

David Hirst opened UTG with {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and in the big blind, Sailendra "Sunny" Sha called with {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

The flop {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{7-} brought two hearts and gave each player a flush draw, with Hirst the nut-flush draw, and Sha check-called the 7,500 bet of Hirst.

The turn came {10-Hearts}, giving both players the flush, and again Sha check-called Hirst's bet, this time for 16,000.

When the river came {9-Hearts}, giving Sha the top-end straight flush, he tank-checked.

Hirst, who himself held the lower-end straight flush, checked back, much to the dismay of Sha.

"I can read you well, Sunny," Hirst said to Sha.
