Event #9 champion Nicholas Seward put in his last 1,000 from the button. Sean Winter called from the small blind and Sam Laskowitz checked the big blind.
Winter bet 12,000 on the Q♦10♥3♦ flop and Laskowitz folded.
Nicholas Seward: 2♣2♦
Sean Winter: 10♠3♥
Winter flopped two pair and took out Seward after the 9♥ turn and 7♦ river.
There was an interesting conversation going on at the tables after Sam Laskowitz asked his fellow players what the biggest difference a doubling of net worth could make to someone's quality of life would be. For example, would going from $600,000 to $1.2 million make a bigger difference than doubling a much larger fortune?
Several players weighed in before Nicholas Palma suggested that $500,000 was already a lot of money and could last someone 10 to 15 years.
"You don't have a wife," replied Chris Brewer, who went on to tell a story about his wife's recent trip to Italy, where she bought their dog a $4,000 Gucci bag.
"I'd return that immediately," Palma responded.
"Gucci doesn't do returns," came Brewer's reply.
While the table debated the cost of luxury dog accessories, there was still plenty of poker being played.
Nicholas Seward opened from the small blind to 42,000 and Sean Winter called from the big blind. Winter then called bets of 24,000 on the flop and 83,000 on the turn as the board ran out A♥9♣3♦10♥10♠.
Seward fired another 236,000 on the river, leaving himself just 1,000 behind. Winter announced a raise to 600,000, and Seward quickly folded.

Nicholas Palma opened to 20,000 from the hijack before Sean Winter made it 60,000 from the button. Katz jammed for around 278,000, folding out Palma. Winter called.
Cary Katz: J♣J♥
Sean Winter: Q♠Q♥
Katz couldn't improve on the A♠6♠4♣K♦K♠ runoout and bowed out.
Sam Laskowitz raised to 20,000 from the hijack, but folded when Nicholas Palma made it 75,000 from the big blind.
Palma then limped in from the small blind before Nicholas Seward made it 32,000 from the big blind. Palma four-bet to 85,000 and folded out Seward after the latter used a time extension.
