There was around 275,000 in the pot in the blind on blind battle between Adrian Mateos and Myles Mullaly.
The board read 9♠2♠Q♣A♦, and Mateos check-called for 90,000.
The 10♣ river completed the board, and Mateos checked. Mullaly bet 200,000, leaving 10,000 behind. Mateos immediately exhaled a deep breath, and used several time banks as he mulled over his options. He then appeared to make a reluctant call.
Mateos mucked when Mullaly tabled A♥K♥ for top-pair-top-kicker.
Christopher Par raised from the small blind and Justin Zaki called all-in blind from the big blind.
Justin Zaki: Xx3♦
Christopher Par: Q♥8♠
Zaki just showed the 3♦, and looked in rough shape after Par made a pair on the A♠K♣9♠5♦Q♠ runout. Luckily for Zaki, his other card was the A♦ and he doubled up.
The spin up continued, as he doubled through Jesse Lonis the following hand.
Justin Zaki opened to 40,000 from under the gun and quickly called when Jesse Lonis jammed for 360,000 from the next seat over.
Jesse Lonis: A♣K♣
Justin Zaki: Q♥Q♣
It was a classic flip, and it looked like Zaki would hold after the 9♦10♣7♥ flop and 2♥ turn. However, the K♥ river gave him the double-up and left Zaki on 40,000 on the soft bubble.
There is a brief stoppage in play to set up the final two tables.
Adrian Mateos jammed for 205,000 from the cutoff. Joey Weissman reshived from the small blind, folding out Brock Wilson in the big blind.
Adrian Mateos: K♣Q♣
Joey Weissman: 6♠6♣
Sixes had been hot throughout the day, but this time they were second best as Mateos made Broadway to double after the board came K♦9♣J♦10♠A♥.
Tony Gregg was under the gun and moved all in for 200,000.
"I hope I don't have a hand," said Nicholas Palma, who was next to act. "Oh boy," commented Palma after looking at his hand. He then called, and the rest of the table folded.
Tony Gregg: A♠5♠
Nicholas Palma: A♣K♠
Palma asked the dealer to give Gregg a chop, but Palma remained best on the J♠9♦6♥A♦4♣ runout.
"He's the nicest guy in poker," mourned Palma as Gregg exited the PokerGO Studio.
