Nicholas Palma opened to 26,000 from under the gun. Joe McKeehen called from the hijack and Adrian Mateos came along from the big blind.
The 5♦5♠4♥ flop checked to McKeehen, and his bet of 24,000 took down the pot.
Aram Oganyan limped in from the small blind and Joey Weissman checked the big blind.
Weissman called for 21,000 on the K♥9♣8♠ flop before the 2♣ turn and 10♦ checked through to showdown.
Oganyan could only show ace-high, and Weissman had a pair of eights with 8♣7♠ to take the pot.
Sam Soverel raised from under the gun and Adrian Mateos called from the cutoff.
The A♥6♦8♠ flop checked through to the A♣ turn, where Soverel check-called for 70,000. Soverel, with around 240,000, checked the 5♦ river. Mateos put Soverel to the test, and the latter called for his tournament life.
Sam Soverel: A♠4♠
Adrian Mateos: A♦J♣
Mateos had the better trip aces and Soverel was eliminated.
On the feature table, Vitalijs Zavorotnijs and Cary Katz were eliminated.
Jamie Dwan and his short stack were all-in and at risk to Dan Smith.
Jamie Dwan: Kx9x
Dan Smith: AxQx
Smith made two pair on the A♠J♥5♣Q♠9♦ runout and eliminated Dwan.
Keith Lehr was also eliminated from the feature table.
Sean Winter raised from early position before Jeremy Becker three-bet from the cutoff. Winter shoved for 154,000 and was quickly called.
Sean Winter: J♦J♣
Jeremy Becker: A♣J♠
Becker found his ace on the A♦K♠3♣ flop to leave Winter with one out. The 4♥ turn was a brick, but the J♥ river gave Winter the unlikely double up.
Jamie Dwan raised to 20,000 from the cutoff and Brandon Wilson came along from the big blind. Wilson led out for 14,000 on the 8♠5♠4♦ flop and folded out Dwan.
