Filipp Khavin opened to 12,000 from under the gun and Dan Smith defended his big blind.
Smith checked on the flop of 5♥6♦K♣ and Khavin continued for 8,000. Smith check-raised to 20,000 and the two-time PokerGO Cup champion turned it down.
Joe McKeehen opened to 13,000 in the hijack and Sam Soverel called on the button as Michael Brinkenhoff came along in the big blind.
The flop of 10♥K♦7♥ checked through and McKeehen bet 16,000 on the K♥ turn. Only Soverel called. McKeehen then checked on the 3♦ river and folded when Soverel bet 90,000.
"Someone had to stop McKeehen from opening every hand," said table mate Shannon Shorr.
The event drew 52 runners for a prize pool of $780,000. A total of eight places will be paid and a minimum cash will be worth $31,200.

Joe McKeehen opened from under the gun and Trenton Daly called in middle position.
McKeehen continued for 11,000 on the flop of 7♠7♦4♣ and Daly called. McKeehen sized up to around 33,000 on the 3♥ turn and Daly again called.
Both players checked on the 4♠ river and McKeehen showed Q♦9♦ to lose to the pair of sixes of his opponent with 6♣6♥.
Elsewhere, Chris Hunichen and Jesse Lonis were eliminated in a double knockout.
