We join another three-way hand between Sean Arazi, Peter Mordaunt, and Stuart [Removed:293]. The community cards show up .
Arazi and [Removed:293] push things all the way, and Stuart comes along right up until the river, when he ducks out, saving his last 6,000 chips for another battle. With no further action, the hands are shown down:
Mordaunt:
Arazi:
Arazi ends up scooping the full pot with his straight to the eight and the six-four low. He rakes in a massive pot, and is firmly atop the leaderboard now, sitting on 130,000 chips!
With a deuce in the hole and a seven showing, Billy "The Croc" Argyros made a move to get all his chips in. Showing a queen, Karib Karib asked how much The Croc had left, and put him all in. With Argyros at risk, the hands were turned over and the boards were run out:
Argyros:
Karib:
Karib made the winning six-low, relegating The Croc to the sidelines here late in Day 1.
Action is capped pre-flop in a three-way pot between James Kronos, Andrew Demetriou, and Clint Wiebenga.
The first three community cards come out . Kronos leads out with a bet, and Demetriou raises. Action comes around to Wiebenga, and he goes into the tank for several minutes. At two different points, he steps away from the table in frustration, only to be warned by the tournament staff that he needs to remain at his seat with a live hand.
After a few, "I can't believe I'm going to fold this" routines, he flips his cards high up into the air, flashing the as they tumble into the muck. With just a few chips remaining, Kronos calls the bet all in, and the two remaining live hands are turned over:
Kronos:
Demetriou:
Kronos is at risk of being knocked out, and the turn and river come and respectively, spelling the end for him. Demetriou chips up to about 55,000, and Wiebenga is knocked back to just 5,000.
Graeme "Kiwi G" Putt called from early position, Michael Palti raised from the button, John Joannou called from the big blind, and then Putt called as well.
The flop came down and after some betting and raising, then Palti found himself all in, with the other two players battling to the river.
The turn was the and then the river the .
At the end of the hand, Palti turned up , Putt held , and Joannou had . Joannou held the best high hand on the river with a straight flush while Putt scooped the low half with an 8-6-4-3-2 low. Palti was eliminated.
Sam Khouiss - Eliminated
A very unhappy Sam Khouiss has just been eliminated by Peter Mordaunt. The details of the hand are unclear, but Khouiss left the table beside himself with frustration. He was up near the top of the leaderboard with 22,000 just an hour ago, but now finds himself on the rail with no more chips to play with.
Martin Harvey, Andrew Demetriou, and another player were just involved in a huge pot on this round of stud hi/lo. There was betting and raising on every street with the action being capped on third and fourth street.
