Play Resumes

The player who contested the last pot was indeed correct, and was awarded the low half of the contested pot. With the situation resolved, the cards are back in the air.

A Quick Pause

The clock has been paused for an unscheduled 5-minute break. During the last round of Stud Hi/Lo, a player was deemed to have won a pot, and the chips were pushed toward him. As he began stacking them up, the other player involved in the pot argued that a mistake was made by the dealer in reading the players' hands. The floor staff has gone upstairs to check the tapes, and we're taking a quick break in the meantime.

Graeme Sinks Hole in One

Graeme Putt just scooped a significant pot playing Stud Hi/Lo to move to 13,000 in chips. When the hole cards were turned over, Graeme revealed {K-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} for a full house and bested his opponent's nut flush for the win; neither player had a qualifying low hand.

Tran Scoops

Stud Hi/Lo:

Trung Tran: ({4-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}) {A-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} ({6-Diamonds})
Peter Peeters: ({K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}) {7-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} ({9-Hearts})

Tran bet the entire way and then caught the {6-Diamonds} on seventh street to scoop the pot with a diamond flush and a low of 6-4-3-2-A. He is now up to 9,500 chips with Peeters down at 2,100.

Hey Pacheco

Filipe Pacheco in Event #1
Filipe Pacheco in Event #1
PokerNews' own photographer Filipe Pacheco has just been eliminated here early in Event #4. He departs with a smile though, as he was practically freerolling in this tournament. Pacheco managed to rack up a third place finish in this morning's Omaha tournament, pocketing enough cash to buy into tonight's event, plus a little dinner money.

Back to work now, Filipe.

Cotaidis Can't Catch

Razz:

With a player bringing in the bet, Mitchell Carle completed, and George Cotaidis and one other player called.

Cotaidis: (X-X) {10-Clubs} {5-Spades} {4-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} (X)
Carle: (X-X) {2-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {2-Spades} {9-Hearts} (X)
Opponent: (X-X) {5-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {J-Hearts} (X)

On fourth and fifth streets, Cotaidis bet, and both opponents called. On sixth, Cotaidis bet, Carle raised, and both men called. On seventh street, Cotaidis released control, checking over to Carle, who put in a bet. The third opponent folded, and Cotaidis called.

Cotaidis: ({8-Clubs} {4-Spades} {3-Clubs}) {10-Clubs} {5-Spades} {4-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}
Carle: ({A-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {3-Hearts}) {2-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {2-Spades} {9-Hearts}

Mitchell Carle takes down the nice pot with his seven low.
