Wiebenga Crosses Dalessandri Off the List

Omaha Hi/Lo:

John Dalessandri was all in preflop in this hand with two other players still in action -- Billy 'The Croc' Argyros and Clint Wiebenga.

The flop came down {K-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {10-Clubs} and Wiebenga bet, to which Argyros called.

The turn was the {Q-Diamonds} and Wiebenga bet out 'The Croc' to get heads up with the all-in player Dalessandri.

Wiebenga: {Q-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {9-Clubs}
Dalessandri: {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}

The river was the {8-Spades} and Wiebenga's full house was good enough to send Dalessandri to the rail. Wiebenga now has over 15,000 in chips.

Van Breaks Down

Van Marcus
Van Marcus
Van Marcus was eliminated from the tournament by Kosta Varoxis in a recent Omaha hand.

Short-stacked, Marcus got it all in before the flop holding {A-?} {Q-?} {6-?} {3-?} and got action from Varoxis, who challenged with {A-?} {K-?} {Q-?} {2-?}. A king on the turn gave Varoxis top pair and that was all he'd need to send Marcus to the rail.

Straight Flush for Haas

Omaha Hi/Lo:

On the flop of {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {8-Hearts}, Jeffrey Haas had position on Jim Ververis going to the turn. The turn was the {9-Hearts} and Ververis checked, Haas bet out, and Ververis called.

The river was the {6-Clubs} and Ververis check-called another bet from Haas.

"I have a rocker of a hand!" proclaimed Haas as he turned up {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} for a straight flush.

Ververis flashed the {10-Clubs} and then mucked. "It was the perfect turn card for you."

Haas is back up to 6,800 chips.

Adios, Andy McLEOD

Omaha Hi/Lo:

Young gun James "Andy McLEOD" Obst is 0-for-2 in H.O.R.S.E. events today. Earlier on, he busted in the High Stakes event, and now he finds himself on the outside looking in once again.

In the penultimate hand, he had folded on the flop, leaving himself just 325 chips.

The very next deal, Obst was all in from the big blind. He held {4-Spades} {4-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {3-Clubs}, and he was at risk of elimination against one opponent, who held {5-Hearts} {6-Spades} {J-Spades} {K-Hearts}. The board came out {10-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}. Obst ran into a flush on the flop, and he heads for the exit.

Folding Top-Top to Karib Karib

Hold'em:

Just shortly after battling with Heath Chick, Van Marcus raised from under the gun and Karib Karib called from the big blind. The flop came down {K-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} and Karib checked. Marcus bet and Karib called.

The turn was the {J-Clubs} and Karib checked again. Marcus bet and this time Karib raised. Marcus thought for a few moments and then openly folded {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}. He is now down to 1,825 and on a steady downswing. Karib now has 4,250 chips.

Cotaidis Finds a Five

Stud Hi/Lo:

Five players get into the action here, but only Van Marcus and George Cotaidis make it past fourth street. On fourth, Marcus was the bettor and only Cotaidis came along with him.

Marcus: (X-X) {7-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {Q-Clubs} (X)
Cotaidis: (X-X) {7-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} (X)

On fifth street, Marcus made another bet, and Cotaidis called once more. On sixth street, Marcus decided to check, allowing Cotaidis to take the lead. Marcus called a bet from his opponent. Both men checked seventh street, and the hands were turned over:

Marcus: ({2-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {10-Hearts}) {7-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {Q-Clubs}
Cotaidis: ({5-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}) {7-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}

Having made trip fives on sixth street, George Cotaidis took down the pot, much to the chagrin of his opponent.

"I can't believe George called on fifth street," muttered Marcus.

"I was ahead!" retorted Cotaidis, as he raked in the pot.

Koray Turker Eliminated

Hold'em:

Koray Turker raised and Clint Wiebenga called from the big blind. These two have been battling back and forth all tournament long.

The flop came down {A-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} and Wiebenga checked to Turker. He bet, Wiebenga raised, and then Turker reraised and said "I only have 150 behind." Wiebenga put him all in and Turker called.

"I've got a pair and a guttah," announced Turker.

"I'm flushing," said Wiebenga.

Turker: {A-Spades} {3-Clubs}
Wiebenga: {Q-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}

The turn did things nice and quick for Turker, when the {8-Diamonds} rolled off. Turker quickly rose from his chair and put his jacket on as the meaningless {6-Spades} fell on the river. He said goodbye to his tablemates and exited the tournament.
