Crocky Cracks Rockets

Billy "The Croc" Argyros
Billy "The Croc" Argyros
Billy 'The Croc' Argyros has stormed up the chip count leaderboard after cracking the pocket aces of Con Cotsomitis.

All the chips were in preflop with Crocky holding {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} as Cotsomitis' aces looked good for a double up. However the board fell {6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} as Crocky spiked a miracle queen on the river to send Cotsomitis to the rail.

Crocky now up to nearly 80,000 chips!

Cowan Eliminated

From the cutoff, Tony Cowan raised all in preflop for 2,375. Antonio Fazzolari made the call from the button.

"If you got an ace, you got me," said Cowan to Fazzolari, turning over {K-Diamonds} {J-Spades}.

"Nope, no ace," responded Fazzolari as he rolled over a dominated {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts}.

The flop -- {Q-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {10-Spades} -- gave Fazzolari the lead with two pair, but it did gave Cowan a pair and a straight draw.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and then the river the {6-Diamonds}, which wasn't what Cowan was looking for. He was eliminated on the hand with Fazzolari jumping up to 26,000 chips.

Pickering Ousted by Comer

Jamie Pickering
Jamie Pickering
Jamie Pickering has just been eliminated from the tournament by Martin Comer. On a board showing {Q-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {2-Diamonds}, Pickering fired a 7,000 bet and Comer raised enough to put him all in. Pickering made the call and tabled {7-Hearts} {6-Clubs} for an open-ended straight; Comer turned over a pocket pair of fives for a set.

The river blanked out ({9-Spades}) and Comer's set held up to eliminate Pickering from the tournament.

Hachem The Folding Machine

With 2,500 in the pot on a flop of {5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} Joe Hachem bet out 3,000 and Serge Darscht moved all in for 15,325 which covered Hachem.

Hachem once again entered the familiar surrounds of "the tank".

"Every hand I play this happens!" cried Hachem, "How can every hand I play be so difficult?"

The clock is called on Hachem which prompts him to fold, "I'm just a folding machine!"

Hachem is now down to 11,000 with Darscht up to 20,000.

Huntly A Man Of His Word

Dennis Huntly
Dennis Huntly
With the board showing {2-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs} there was plenty of table talk between Dennis Huntly and Dutchman Johannes Verstraten.

Huntly checked from the big blind and Verstraten led out for 2,100 from under the gun. Huntly thought for a moment and made the call.

The river landed the {4-Clubs} and Huntly instantly fired out 4,000. "You don't bluff do you?" quizzed Verstraten.

"Never!" declared Huntly sending Verstraten into the tank. As Huntly agreed to show if his opponent folded, Verstraten tossed his cards into the muck claiming that he folded pocket kings. Huntly was a man of his word as he flashed {A-Spades}{3-Hearts} for the rivered straight.

Caps Don't Need Washing

When David Saab plays, he can usually be found wearing his white Chicago Cubs hat. Just a few minutes ago, James Honeybone commented on it and gave Saab some grief about the condition the hat is in.

JH: "That cap is filthy, mate. Do you wash it?"

DS: "I was with my friend a week ago. She ran it through the wash."

JH: "I'll run it through for you tonight, mate."

DS: "Please mate, it's a cap. It needs to be washed once a month!"

Hachem No Ali

Joe Hachem Down To 15,000
Joe Hachem Down To 15,000
Gursel Ali raised to 600 before Joe Hachem popped it up to 1,500. Ali made the call and they saw a {9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop.

Ali checked to Hachem in position who fired out 1,625. Ali then check-raised to 4,125 but Hachem was having none of it as he put in another raise - a small one to 6,625.

Ali thought for a moment before moving all in. Hachem was sent into the tank but after a bet, raise and reraise, he decided to let it go as he falls to 15,000 with Ali now up to 57,000.
