Kobbling Clobbers Khouiss

Sam Khouiss - Eliminated
Sam Khouiss - Eliminated
In early position, Sam Khouiss raised to 800. Chris Chronis and Celina Lin called, and action came to Karsten Kobbing in the small blind. He squeezed the table, putting in a raise to 3,700. Khouiss called, while the rest of the players got out of the way.

The flop brought {4-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}. Kobbing continued out with 3,000 chips, and Khouiss moved all in for about 12,000. Without hesitation, Kobbing made the call, having Sam covered.

Showdown:
Kobbing: {A-Clubs} {K-Spades}
Khouiss: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}

Fourth and fifth streets were the {6-Clubs} and {2-Spades} respectively, and Kobbing's king kicker played. He eliminates the dangerous Sam Khouiss from the table, chipping his way up to 46,000.

My Boat's Bigger Than Your Boat

On a board showing {K-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {J-Spades} Matthew Brinckley opened with a 1,500 bet that was called by Michael Tran. The river was the {8-Spades} and Brinckley fired again, this time for 3,000. Tran then reraised all in for a total of 11,500 and Brinckley made the call:

Showdown:
Brinckley: {6-Spades} {6-Hearts}
Tran: {J-Hearts} {J-Clubs}

Tran's jacks full one-upped Brinckley's sixes full and he successfully doubled through to 30,000 in chips. Brinckley fell to 14,000 in the loss.

Nelson Changes Gears

Lee Nelson has collected the last four pots at his table to climb his stack up to 25,000.

The most significant pot was when Nelson raised to 500 from early position preflop, and then fired bets on the flop and turn, before checking the river on a board of {J-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{3-Spades}. His opponent Manwun Ku checked behind and couldn't better Nelson's ace high with {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}.

Pachos Finds a Nine

Trung Tran raised before the flop, and he found action from Simon Cleal and John Pachos. The flop came {7-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {9-Clubs}, and all three players stayed in, though the betting action was unclear.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs}. Cleal led out with a bet of 6,000, and Pachos moved all in for his last chips, approximately 12,000. Tran ducked out (later saying he folded two aces), and Cleal made the call. The river was the {K-Spades}. Pachos turned over {9-Diamonds} {9-Spades}, and it was the winner. He has nearly tripled up to 33,000.

Khoury Eliminates Christofi

Paul Khoury
Paul Khoury
Paul "The Voice" Khoury is currently stacking up plenty of chips after busting the aggressive Chris Christofi.

The pot had swollen after bets preflop and on the flop, as the players went to the turn on a board of {K-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

Khoury led out for 4,000 and Christofi moved all in for roughly another 14,000 to send Khoury into the tank. "I have a big hand, I have to call!" said Khoury and tabled {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades} for a set, as Christofi cringed and revealed {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}.

The river bricked the {5-Clubs} and Khoury send Christofi to the rail to jump up to over 40,000 chips.

This One's a Head Scratcher...

William Schroeter opened the pot with a raise to 600 from middle position. Action folded around the table to Andrew Meldrum in the small blind who reraised to 2,100. Athan Papoulas made the call in the big blind and the action returned to Schroeter, who moved all in for a total of 18,975. Meldrum followed suit and also moved in, having both opponents covered with 27,000 in chips. Papoulas joined in the fun and a three-way preflop showdown ensued:

Showdown:
Schroeter: {A-Clubs} {A-Spades}
Meldrum: {K-Hearts} {K-Spades}
Papoulas: {8-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}

Meldrum managed to spike a third king on the flop as the board filled out {K-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {10-Spades}, giving him top set for the win. Both Schroeter and Papoulas were eliminated in the hand.

Beer Causes Cramer Problems

Jamie Beer and Bastiian Cramer were just mixed up in a big pot on Table 28. On the flop, the board showed {6-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}. Cramer led out with a bet of 5,000, prompting Beer to move all in, having his opponent covered. Cramer called, putting himself all in and at risk.

Showdown:
Beer: {7-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}
Cramer: {K-Hearts} {K-Spades}

Beer was in good shape, having out-flopped the overpair of his opponent. The turn and river came {5-Clubs} and {10-Spades} respectively, and Beer's set held up. He is now on 29,000, while Cramer is headed to the exit.

Dunst Freerollin'

Tony Dunst
Tony Dunst
Tony Dunst raised to 550 from late position before 2007 PokerNews Cup Main Event Champion Dory Zayneh re-raised to 1,100 from the button. The blinds folded before Dunst moved all in for his last 7,675. Zayneh made the call but both players tabled the same hand, with Dunst's {A-Spades}{K-Spades} up against Zayneh's {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}.

With a chop likely, the board brought some excitement when it fell {8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Spades} to give Dunst outs to a flush, but the river was the {A-Diamonds} and both players split the pot.
