Pavel Hybl and Dan Purcel take from Antonio Quarta

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

From under the gun, Antonio Quarta raised to 800 and picked up three callers on the button, small blind and big blind. On the {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{10-Spades} flop, action folded to Pavel Hybl on the button and he bet 1,500. Dirty Harry and Quarta called before then checking down the {2-Spades} turn. After the {5-Spades} river, Quarta action checked to Hybl and he won the pot uncontested with a bet of 2,000.

One hand later, Hybl raised to 700 from the cutoff and Dan Purcel in the small blind as well as Quarta in the big bling came along. Again it was checked to the Czech and Hybl bet 1,100, both opponents called. On the {7-Clubs} turn, Purcel and Quarta checked, Hybl bet 2,500 and just Purcel called.

The {Q-Spades} river completed the board and Purcel's bet of 10,500 won the pot, as Hybl folded.

No Joy yet for Thomas Zurek

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Thomas Zurek flopped top pair and turned two pair with {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} on {A-}{4-}{2-}{Q-} to get his stack in. Unfortunately, Martin Korman had pocket fours and Werner Eduard Zaremba had pocket deuces. The river was a blank and Korman tripled up while Zaremba took the side pot and eliminated Zurek.

The screens show 161 entries and the field of Day 1a has been eclipsed.

Sven Bahnsen Builds Stack

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Dan Purcel was the initial raiser for 800 and picked up three callers. They were are still in the hand until the {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Hearts} turn and Pavel Novotny bet 3,100 for around half the size of the pot. Sven Bahnsen on the button raised to 7,500 and that forced folds from all opponents at the table.

Bahnsen is the second biggest stack at the table just ahead of Antonio Quarta and behind Vadzim Lipauska.

Small Setback for Antonio Quarta

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Dan Purcel bet the {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop and then moved all in for his last 7,200 on the {3-Diamonds} turn. With just about as many chips in the pot, Antonio Quarta called from one seat over and then saw the bad news.

Purcel: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}
Quarta: {A-Clubs}{6-Spades}

The {8-Clubs} river was of no help for Quarta and Purcel doubled up, but remains below starting stack.
