Good Fold from Stanev

Level 3 : 300/600, 600 ante

A big pot before the flop is a great indication that something good is going to happen. At least for one of the players.

In this situation we had five players putting each 4,000 before the flop, creating a 20,000 pot. The flop came {3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Dejan Stanev bet 11,000 from the big blind, and the only player that called was Pavel Pavlov from the button.

The {k-Clubs} appeared on the turn and Stanev bet 31,000 this time, with Pavlov announcing all in for 87,000.

Stanev thought about it for a long time but no-one asked for time on the table. Eventually, Stanev decided to fold showing the {q-Clubs}. Pavlov opened his cards and proved that Stanev made a great fold, since he was holding {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs} with the flush.

That prompt Stanev to open his other card too, with the {q-Diamonds} showing that he indeed made a big fold.

Second Player Out

Level 3 : 300/600, 600 ante

Georgios Zarogiannis didn't manage to last for long after losing one of his first hands in the tournament as we reported earlier. That doesn't mean that he wasn't drawing good in his last all in, but still he is out of the High Roller.

We catch up with him after he busted and he described the hand in a short manner. In a four-way three-bet pot he was holding {q-Clubs}{j-} and he announced all in in the flop with the board showing {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Only one player called his shove and he was holding six-three off-suit with no clubs in hand.

The turn was a queen giving a huge advantage to Zarogiannis but a non-club deuce on the river gave a straight to his opponent, and he was sent to the rail.

Two Missed Bluffs for Dimitros

Level 2 : 200/400, 400 ante

Dimitrios Dimitros tried twice to steal in the river and both times he was playing against Andreas Halkiadakis. Both times Dimitros had king-high while Halkiadakis was holding ace-high and bottom pair, respectively.

The two players know each other and Halkiadakis was very excited with his calls, standing from his seat, and yelling "i could call you all night!"

The aggressive style doesn't work well for Dimitros so far since he is down to 30,000 chips.

Cut in Half From the Beginning

Level 2 : 200/400, 400 ante

Georgios Zarogiannis entered late in the High Roller and he went in Table 1 which apparently is a very aggressive table. This resulted in him losing more than half his stack in one of his very first hands.

David Reef raised to 1,500 chips from under-the-gun, Emil Trenkov called from the next seat and Marcel Galustov was the third player in a row to act, announcing a raise in 10,000 chips. The hand was folded to the big blind, where Zarogiannis was seated and he raised to 21,000. Reef and Trenkov folded, Galustov announced all-in and Zarogiannis snap-called by throwing a chip in the middle of the table.

Galustov: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Zarogiannis: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Galustov managed to double up, having the shortest stack between the two players. The dealer counted his chips and found out they were 67,600 with Zarogiannis paying the lost hand to his opponent.

First Blood

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Fourty minutes were enough for the first player-out into Day 1a of the High Roller. The hand was between Rosen Symeonov and David Reef with the board reading {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades} when we reached the table.

Reef was the one who announced all-in and Symeonov called being covered from his opponent.

Symeonov: {a-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Reef: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Symeonov was drawing very thin and the {k-Diamonds} on the river ensured that the pot will go to the Israelian player.
