Rocha Can't Fade the Deuce

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

A very short-stacked Corey Kempson shoved all in for 4,300 in middle position, and Alex Rocha reshoved in the small blind to isolate.

Rocha: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}
Kempson: {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

Kempson was happy to see he had a decent shot of at least a chop, but the {4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop put him in the lead to double. The {7-Hearts} turn and {9-Clubs} river weren't what Rocha was looking for. Kempson immediately scampered off to get a celebratory glass of wine.

ElkY
ElkY

Bertrand Grospellier called an all-in shove worth 12,100 from Demosthenes Kiriopoulos, who was on his right and on the button. The big blind mucked, leaving the two heads up and sweating the board.

Grospellier: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Kiriopoulos: {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

"ElkY" was in a dominant spot but could neither hold nor suck back out when the board came {6-Clubs}{10-Spades}{q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

Engel Takes From Krijn

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Ari Engel
Ari Engel

Tonny Krijn has been sporting one of the biggest stacks in the rooms for the past hours but had to part with some of his chips in a hand against GPI #4 ranked player Ari Engel.

Krijn raised to 2,000 from under the gun, Engel three-bet to 6,000 from the cutoff, and Krijn called. The flop came down {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and Krijn checked. Engel continued with 3,200, Krijn check-raised to 8,800, and Engel called. Both players checked the {4-Hearts} on the turn.

On the {J-Spades}, Krijn slowly and methodically riffled his chips before checking. Engel bet a relatively small 10,500, Krijn couldn't find a call and folded his hand.

Fast Preserves His Last

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Vitaly Tevis bet 9,000 into what looked like a pot of about 14,000 with {8-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades} on the flop. Dietrich Fast had checked on his right in middle position, and the German crusher called. On the {k-Diamonds} turn, Tevis moved all in after Fast checked. The German asked to see Tevis' stack, and it covered Fast's own 31,700. He decided to fold.

Pitzanti Sticks Against Kolonias

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Sandro Pitzanti opened to 2,000 from the hijack. Greek high-stakes specialist Alexandros Kolonias three-bet to 4,000 from the cutoff and Pitzanti snap-called. On the {J-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop, Pitzanti check-called a 2,000 bet from Kolonias.

On the {5-Hearts} turn, Pitzanti checked and Kolonias bet 5,000. Once again, Pitzanti wasted no time in calling. Both players quickly checked the {K-Diamonds} on the river.

Pitzanti shrugged and tabled {K-Hearts}{8-Spades} for a rivered pair of kings, which prompted Kolonias to muck his hand.
