Cupfighter Sander van Wesemael Eliminated

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Sander van Wesemael, who late registered the Main Event, wasn't able to hold onto his stack for long. The Dutchman found his demise at the hands of Wim Neys, by shoving {8-}{8-} into Neys' {10-}{10-}.

Van Wesemael's week is still a massive success, as he won the €330 PokerStars Cup for a whopping €127,000 last night, beating 2,648 players in the process. Although that's an impressive feat by itself, it becomes near improbable when you consider Van Wesemael also won the €330 PokerStars Cup in Lille (€28,704 - 558 runners) and the €330 Marbella Poker Cup (€36,450 - 788 runners).

With that, Van Wesemael has won the last three out of the four PokerStars Cups being hosted (he opted out of traveling to Bucharest), indubitably one of the most impressive poker feats of the year.

Abdelmoumene Folds Bottom Set

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

There was a flop of {10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts} on the felt and action had exploded between three players. One had bet 2,000, Karim Abdelmoumene had raised to 7,500 on the button, and big blind Vlad Stefan Lache stuck in his 11,300. The original bettor crammed in for another 31,000 or so, and Abdelmoumene thought a bit and folded {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} with frustration.

He was right about being beat as Lache held {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. However, the fives were good against {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a potentially larger side pot, and the board ran out {3-Clubs}{9-Spades} to keep the set best.

Fang Survives

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Giada Fang
Giada Fang

Giada Fang saw her tournament life hang by a shred when she was all in preflop with {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} against Aleksei Opalikhin's {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} and a third player with {Q-}{Q-}.

Luckily for Fang, the board ran out {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Fang rivered the wheel to chop the main pot with Opalikhin and divide the third player's stack.

Chen Knocks Out Pisarev

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Andrew Chen
Andrew Chen

Andrew Chen raised to 1,400 in early position. Behind him, Denis Pisarev shoved all in for 12,000. When it got back to Chen, he instantly called to put Pisarev at risk.

Andrew Chen: {A-}{K-}
Denis Pisarev: {A-}{Q-}

The board ran out {3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{A-Spades}{J-Spades} and Chen's kicker played to knock out Pisarev.

Reichard Ships on Malec

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Josh Reichard opened second to act for 1,200. Sebastian Malec made it 4,000 to go after getting a count of Reichard's big chips — he had three. The American responded with an all-in shove after about 30 seconds. Malec got a count of 21,975 and folded after a minute or so.
