Bedell Straightens Zinno Out

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Anthony Zinno raised to 1,300 from under the gun and got calls from a player in early position, middle position, as well as Tom-Askell Bedell in the cutoff and Jessica Borrego in the small blind.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Borrego checked to Zinno who bet 2,500. The players in early and middle positions folded, and Bedell and Borrego called.

The turn was the {a-Diamonds} and all three players checked to the river, which was the {4-Hearts}.

Borrego checked, and Zinno bet 4,500. Bedell and Borrego both called.

Zinno tabled [ksksd] for a set of kings, and Bedell showed {8-Spades}{7-Hearts} for a straight to the right. Borrego mucked, sending the pot to Bedell.

Hallaert Doubles With Straight Flush

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Straight flush for Hallaert
Straight flush for Hallaert

Right before the break, Kenny Hallaert opened the action with a raise to 1,100. The big blind defended.

The big blind check-called a bet of 1,300 on {J-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} before checking again on the {5-Clubs} turn. Hallaert continued with a bet of 3,000 and saw the big blind check-shove. Hallaert called for 11,000 total.

Kenny Hallaert: {6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Big blind: {2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Hallaert had just two outs and hit one of them with the {3-Clubs} on the river!

After doubling with quads earlier today, now a straight flush for Hallaert to see his stack go times two. Unfortunately for Hallaert, he's still under starting stack.

Hallaert Gives Up

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

The player under the gun limped in and David Peters in the cutoff raised to 2,200. Small blind Kenny Hallaert bumped the action to 7,500 and the big blind and limper both folded. Peters contemplated what to do for just a bit before he called.

Both players checked the flop of {A-Clubs}{7-Spades}{J-Clubs} and the {6-Clubs} on the turn was seen for free. Hallaert checked again and folded as Peters moved all in.

Latest Team PokerStars Pro Off to a Good Start

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Igor Kurganov, who signed with PokerStars last month and plays his first PokerStars Championship Main Event as a sponsored pro here today, jumped into action just before the dinner break and he's already off to a good start.

In a recent hand, Honduras' Luis Gutierrez Turcios raised to 1,500 under the gun and Kurganov, who was to his direct left, three-bet to 3,900. Action folded back to Turcios, and he called to see a {2-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop.

Turcois checked, Kurgaov bet 4,000, and the Honduran check-raised to 11,000.

Kurganov began chatting up his opponent in Spanish, and he managed to pull a few answers out of him. Whatever was said, it was enough to get Kurganov to move all in for 22,000.

Turcois wasted little time in laying down his hand.

Kaverman Gets There

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Byron Kaverman bet 4,500 from the big blind on a {4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} board against Daniel Dvoress, who made it 11,800 to go in early position. Kaverman called and then checked the {j-Spades}. Dvoress thought a bit and checked back, and he couldn't beat Kaverman's {q-Spades}{7-Spades} for a rivered flush.

See how he fared during THE AMAZING POKER QUIZ!
