Tough Exit for Lau

Level 6 : 400/800, 0 ante

Ka Kwan Lau won this event at PokerStars Championship Macau, but he's going to need a reentry to repeat the feat after a brutal bustout. He got it in there with {a-}{a-}{k-}{6-} but found he was up against {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} of David Dayan. The Brazilian made a diamond flush to bust Lau.

At another table, Imad Derwiche took a seat.

Simao Coolers Quevedo

Level 6 : 400/800, 0 ante
Joao Simao
Joao Simao

Just before the previous level ended, Joao Simao got his stack of nearly 60,000 in on an {8-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{q-Spades} flop holding {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. His top set was good against Federico Quevedo, who had {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for second set and a flush draw. The turn was a {5-Spades} and the river a {6-Diamonds}, so Quevedo sent over most of his stack after missing his heart draw.

Watson Rips the Turn

Level 5 : 300/600, 0 ante

Six players put in 1,800 preflop, and everyone checked to Mike Watson, who bet 10,800 last to act on a {5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop. Only Alexander Uskov, on Watson's right, wanted to keep playing. Uskov checked the {4-Diamonds} turn and Watson jammed for what looked like about 26,000. Uskov folded fairly quickly.

At another table, Konstantinos Bouloutsos sat in.

Level 5 : 300/600, 0 ante

Sampo Ryynanen and Anthony Zinno have entered for the first time, and George Wolff has opted to reenter.

Greenwood Folds, Albeit Painfully

Level 5 : 300/600, 0 ante

Felipe Ramos limped in at the previous level and Hok Lee made it 2,200 from the cutoff. Luc Greenwood called in the big blind, and Ramos sprang to life with a reraise to 9,000. Lee called after some thought, and Greenwood came along too. The flop came {5-Spades}{j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, and Ramos put in his last 9,400 after Greenwood checked. Lee folded, and Greenwood seemed pained but eventually folded after exchanging some banter with Ramos.

"Just don't show me," Greenwood said with a smile.

Ramos obliged and kept his cards face-down.

Troyanovskiy Doubles

Level 4 : 200/500, 0 ante

We didn't see Ka Kwan Lau's cards, as they were already in the muck, but he paid 42,400 to Vladimir Troyanovskiy on a board of {8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Troyanovskiy had {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for kings up.

Two more players also took seats: Jussi Nevanlinna and Fabian Ribau-Schmithels.

Bensadoun Puts Nasty Beat on Thorel to Bust Him for Good

Level 4 : 200/500, 0 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel just got all of his chips in way ahead with {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} on a flop of {5-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades}, which gave him the nut straight. [Removed:119] had {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for an inferior straight draw and a backdoor flush draw, but a {5-Spades} turn and {4-Spades} river gave him a full house to eliminate the disgusted Thorel.
