Luca Crippled

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Three players got their stacks in the middle preflop, with Ivan Luca covering both opponents:

Ivan Luca: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Viktor Shener: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Julien Pirard: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}

All players remained in after the board ran out {9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. Shener took the main pot and tripled his stack of 9,800. Pirard had 16,300 left after paying off Shener and took those chips from Luca. The Argentinian was left with just 2,000, which he tripled in the hand after.

Kitai Contra Kolonias

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Davidi Kitai
Davidi Kitai

Davidi Kitai raised to 1,800 from the hijack. Alexandros Kolonias three-bet to 6,500 from the small blind and Kitai called. The dealer fanned out an all-jack flop: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{J-Clubs}. Kolonias opted for a 5,000 continuation-bet and Kitai called. Both players checked the {10-Spades} on the turn.

The river {K-Spades} elicited a 10,000 bet from Kolonias. Kitai spent a minute thinking before shoving all in for 35,500. Kolonias slumped back in his chair and went into a deep tank.

Minutes passed before Kitai called the clock on his opponent. After sixty seconds, Kolonias still couldn't make up his mind and his hand was automatically declared dead.

Patel Finds the Call Button

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Emil Patel was in the big blind with a completed board of {3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Hearts} on the felt. An opponent in middle position had put him all in for 14,500 into a pot containing about 25,000. Patel decided to call after a few moments of thought. His opponent shook his head and tabled {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a whiffed straight.

Patel showed {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and dragged the pot.

He Should Have Waited A Few More Seconds

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Mikita Badziakouski_Dejan Boskovic Jr
Mikita Badziakouski_Dejan Boskovic Jr

We found Mikita Badziakouski contemplating whether to call off his last 10,200. There was only a bit more than that in the pot, and all of the cards were out: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}.

"Why not check?" he said with a smile. "Why bluff me?"

Eventually his opponent, Makram Saber, called a clock.

"My last minute in the tournament," Badziakouski said. "Good luck guys."

As the final 10 second countdown began, Badziakouski held his chips over the pot then brought them back. Under five seconds left, and he decided to call.

Saber showed {k-Spades}{q-Clubs} for the nuts. Badziakouski vacated his cards, and the dealer turned over {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Andreas Hoivold
Andreas Hoivold

Andreas Hoivold raised to 15,000 from the button on a completed board of {3-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} after a player in early position bet 6,000. That player decided to call for all but his last 4,000, and Hoivold flicked {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} into the middle for the nut flush.

"Bad river for me," Hoivold said.
