Massive Clash Vaults Schillhabel to the Top

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Stefan Schillhabel
Stefan Schillhabel

Nicolas Fuentes Vidal had previously doubled through Stefan Schillhabel and both were at it again in a raising war with both players at over half a million in chips. Picking up the action on a squeeze to 113,000 by Schillhabel, Vidal reraised from one seat over for more than 250,000 and Schillhabel then shoved, Vidal called.

Stefan Schillhabel: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}
Nicolas Fuentes Vidal: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}

The {J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} was a huge sweat for Schillhabel despite getting it in with the best hand, however, the {7-Spades} turn and {2-Spades} river both blanked. Schillhabel's stack was counted for 585,000 and Vidal had 532,000 to join the rail with a story to tell.

The next batch of casualties included Clemente Malheiro Carreira, who got it in for around 60,000 with the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}. Nicolas Fuentes Vidal looked him up with the {J-Clubs}{J-Spades} and the board came {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and that was it for Malheiro Carreira. "I am glad I didn't go for it," Arne Coulier added after the hand was over.

Big Double for Aido

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

A raise to 13,000 by Sergei Petrushevskii was called by Sergio Aido and both players in the blinds, and the four-way flop fell {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. The blinds checked and Petrushevskii continued for 25,000, which only Aido called. On the {J-Clubs} turn, Petrushevskii moved all in and Aido quickly called for his last 185,000.

Sergio Aido: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Sergei Petrushevskii: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

The {K-Clubs} on the river completed the board and Aido scored a massive double.

At the TV table, Hossein Ensan opened to 12,000 in early position and Daniel Negreanu called on the button. Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier went all in for 143,000 from the big blind and Ensan folded.

"I'll gamble with you, bud" quipped Negreanu before making the call.

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}
Daniel Negreanu: {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

"Club, club!" cheered Negreanu after the {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, which left him drawing very slim. The {7-Spades} on the turn sealed the double for ElkY, making the {10-Hearts} river meaningless. ElkY is back at 50 big blinds.

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Ke Chen's deep run in the Main Event has been halted by Moritz Dietrich. Chen finished 2nd at WPT Beijing last month ($199,278) and added €12,080 on top of that today.

Chen held {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs} in a blind battle against Dietrich's {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}. On a {7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{K-Clubs} board, all the chips went in with Chen drawing dead. The sympathetic Chinese shook his opponent's hand and headed towards the payout desk.
