Isaev Loses Flip; Joins Oxojan on the Rail Next Hand

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Sergey Isaev
Sergey Isaev

Sergey Isaev moved all in saying, “First position.” to the table. His under the gun shove was met with a shove from small blind Denis Pavlenko with a similar stack.

Isaev had {k-Spades}{q-Spades} and it was a race against the {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} of Pavlenko.

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and the jacks held to leave Isaev with just 4,000. He was in the big blind next hand and that one would provide further fireworks.

Gevorg Oxojan limped under the gun. It folded around to Ulrich Jungen in the small blind and he shoved, Oxojan called it off with fewer chips than Jungen.

Gevorg Oxojan: {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Ulrich Jungen: {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Sergey Isaev: {K-Spades}{6-Hearts}

Oxojan was ahead, and the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop didn't change anything yet. However, the {6-Spades} turn gave Jungen a straight and the {Q-Clubs} river sent two players to the straight.

Bertrand Grospellier Tangles with Daniyar Aubakirov

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

On a {a-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop Daniyar Aubakirov checked to pre-flop aggressor Bertrand Grospellier who bet 14,000 and Aubakirov called.

The turn was the {6-Spades} and this time Aubakirov led for 26,000 and Grospellier called. The river was the {10-Clubs} and Aubakirov checked. ElkY bet 55,000 and Aubakirov called.

ElkY showed {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for two pair, aces and sixes, and that was good enough to take down the pot.

Andrei Chernokoz Eliminated by Dmitry Vitkind

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Andrei Chernokoz moved all in from the cutoff for his last 62,000 and Dmitry Vitkind called in the big blind.

Chernokoz: {j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Vitkind: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

There was absolutely no help for Chernokos as the board ran out {5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, and he even gave it a half-hearted cheer as the Jack came on the river but he was already dead due to the Queen on the flop and he exited with half an hour left in Day 3.

Gililov Rivers Khosravi

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Anton Gililov
Anton Gililov

Anton Gililov opened from under the gun and short stack Arash Khosravi shoved for around 60,000 from two seats over. Once it folded back to Gililov, he called and the cards were tabled.

Arash Khosravi: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Anton Gililov: {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The {K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop and the {10-Hearts} turn changed nothing, but the {A-Spades} river sent Khosravi to the rail with a shaking head.

Wheeler Rolls on Another, Ponomarev the Latest

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Jason Wheeler
Jason Wheeler

Jason Wheeler has busted players in back-to-back hands. The latest to fall was Dmitry Ponomarev. Wheeler opened from the button with a stack of blue 5,000 chips, roughly 100,000, covering both players in the big blind. Ponomarev put himself at risk, calling off in the small blind.

Wheeler: {6-Spades}{5-Spades}
Ponomarev: {8-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, and though Wheeler won the flop draw, Ponomarev retook the lead on the turn, only have it stolen away, along with his tournament life, on the river.

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Konstantin Bugaev open-shoved for 22 big blinds from the button and Jason Wheeler, who had previously lost a bigger pot, looked at his cards in the big blind and called instantly.

Jason Wheeler: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Konstantin Bugaev: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

The board came {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{A-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and that was it for the Russian, who bowed out in 40th place.

Li Cracks Aces To Survive.

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Vitaliy Li
Vitaliy Li

Gaby Livshitz opened and Vitaliy Li defended his big blind.

With Li the player at risk all the chips went in the middle on a flop of {3-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

Li had hit with {10-Diamonds}{2-Spades} but Livshitz turned over his {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and was surely looking forward to eliminating another player.

The turn {a-Spades} gave Livshitz top set but delivered a flush draw for Li. The river card was the {4-Spades} and he got there. Li exhaled in disbelieving relief while Livshitz had to count out the chips to pay him for cracking his aces.

ElkY Flushes Bohme

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Jorg Bohme
Jorg Bohme

Dmitry Vitkind raised from the button and PokerStars qualifier Jorg Bohme called in the small blind, as did Bertrand "ElkY" Bohme in the big blind. On the {K-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop, Bohme shoved for his last 63,000 and ElkY called, while Vitkind quickly folded.

Jorg Bohme: {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Bertrand Grospellier: {4-Spades}{2-Spades}

While the online qualifier was ahead, his dreams of an even deeper run in the event was immediately crushed on the {J-Spades} turn. This made the {8-Spades} river a formality and Bohme was gone in 41st place. Their table broke right after, as the remaining 40 players will now get balanced on five tables.
