Kocheiche Gets Merten to Fold

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Thomas Merten raised to 400 from the button and was called by Rizkallah Kocheiche and Andreas Giedt in the blinds.

The flop came {7-Spades}{a-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and both Kocheiche and Giedt checked. Merten, however, bet 500. Kocheiche called and Giedt folded.

The turn brought them the {9-Diamonds}, Kocheiche check-raised to 3,000 when Merten bet 1,100.

"What did you pick up there?" Merten asked Kocheiche.

"What?" Kocheiche asked.

Merten repeated the question and Kocheiche just shrugged and smiled.

Merten folded.

"Do you want to see?" Kocheiche asked Merten now.

"Yes" Merten replied.

Kocheiche showed {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for the flopped two pair, sevens and fives.

A Small Pot for Sokolovskiy

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Dirk Benz raised to 600 from the hijack and [Removed:19] three-bet to 1,600 from the cutoff. The action folded back to Benz who called.

They both checked through the {7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{K-Clubs} on the flop to the {7-Spades} on the turn. Benz now bet 2,500 and Sokolovskiy called.

Then the {q-Clubs} came on the river on which they both checked. Benz showed {a-Spades}{5-Spades} for the missed flush draw so he had ace-high. Sokolovskiy had {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs} for top pair which was enough to win the pot.

Barbarez Books a Win

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante
Sergej Barbarez
Sergej Barbarez

The board read {6-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Thanat Chinphanitkit had bet 3,800 from the small blind in a pot which seemed to be substantial already. Sergej Barbarez who was seated in middle position called.

The river completed the board with the {J-Clubs} and they both checked. Chinphanitkit showed {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for a pair of eights but that was not sufficient to win the pot as Barbarez had {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for top pair.

Meladze Doubles Through Admadi

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

The board read {10-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Merab Meladze had shoved for the 9,625 he still had behind. Ahmad Ahmadi had another look at his cards and then called. Meladze showed {10-Hearts}{3-Spades} for the rivered two pair which was enough to beat the {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} of Ahmadi and earned him the double-up.

Ziermann Doubles Through Pham

Level 4 : 150/300, 50 ante

Rainer Ziermann raised to 500 from the cutoff and was called by Adriatik Agalliu in the small blind. Phong Thanh Pham three-bet to 1,200 from the big blind. Ziermann called and Agalliu folded.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, Pham bet 2,000 but Ziermann raised to 5,000. Pham took a few second but then called.

The turn brought them the {6-Clubs}, now Pham checked. Ziermann bet 9,100, Pham shoved and had Ziermann covered. Ziermann snap-called. Ziermann tabled {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a flopped set of deuces which was better than the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} that Pham had. Ziermann doubled up.

New Chip Leader Found In Rybak

Level 4 : 150/300, 50 ante

Ahmad Ahmadi limped in from the under-the-gun position and so did Merad Meladze from early position. Igor Rybak raised to 1,100 from mid-position and action folded to Bennet Schmidt in the big blind who three-bet to 2,300. Ahmadi got out of the way quickly but both Meladze and Rybak called.

The flop came {4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and Schmidt bet 2,200. Meladze and Rybak both called again.

The turn brought them the {8-Clubs}, now Schmidt check-folded to the 6,000 bet by Meladze. Rybak did call however.

The river completed the board with the {5-Clubs}, Meladze shoved for 12,050 and Rybak snap-called. Meladze tabled {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} proudly for the straight he had rivered, even when Rybak showed {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. When the table and the dealer pointed out that Rybak had rivered a flush, he left the table while cursing out loud and walked away to another table to tell his friend what had happened. The rest of the table still laughed a bit afterward.
