The Holke Train Runs Hot

Level 4 : 150/300, 50 ante
Tom Holke
Tom Holke

Hand 1

On the three-way turn of {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, Tom Holke checked out of the small blind and Korbinian Sonnenholzner bet 3,000 from early position. The third player in the hand folded and Holke called, before checking again the {J-Clubs} river. Sonnenholzner bet 3,000 and Holke quickly called and showed {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}, which Sonnenholzner had beat with {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. "So you really hit the king," Holke sighed, but he got his revenge right away.

Hand 2

One hand later, Sonnenholzner bet a three-way flop of {8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop for 1,800. Holke was the only caller on the button and Sonnenholzner continued for 4,000 on the {7-Hearts} turn, Holke called. After the {5-Diamonds} on the river, Sonnenholzner checked and Holke bet 10,000 before his opponent check-raised all in.

Holke quickly called and tabled {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for the straight, Sonnenholzner was caught bluffing with {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and grabbed his beer before heading to the rail. Hamza Miri joked "don't worry, it has been like this the entire time. Those two played 28 out of the last 30 hands.

Kopyl's Hits Trips

Level 4 : 150/300, 50 ante

The pot contained about 6,000 already and the board read {9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Waldemar Kopyl (big blind) and Said Nadjem (mid-position) both checked. [Removed:321] Safaei bet 2,500 from the button and both Kopyl and Nadjem called.

The river completed the board with the {9-Clubs} on which they all checked. Kopyl was first to show and he tabled {A-Hearts}{2-Spades} for trip deuces and that was ample to make the others muck their cards.

More for Holke and Haneberg; Less for Nguyen

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

On the {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop, Thang Duc Nguyen in the small blind and his opponent both invested 2,000 chips and the {K-Spades} appeared on the turn. Nguyen checked and his opponent motioned to see the stack of the EPT3 Baden champion. Nguyen obliged to reveal 20,000 and some change, and a bet of 5,000 by the opponent did the trick to force a fold.

Tom Holke was given some more chips after a hero call of an opponent came at the wrong time, while Andre Haneberg scooped a small pot on a different table. Haneberg had raised from under the gun and the big blind defended. Until the {J-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds} turn, some 5,000 were in the middle but no further betting action took place as the {4-Clubs} river was also checked through.

The big blind flashed {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for a pair of tens and Haneberg had {Q-Spades}{6-Spades} for top pair.
