Casino Schenefeld
Casino Schenefeld

After a total of four starting days, the 2017 PokerStars Festival Hamburg €1,100 Main Event has comfortably surpassed the initial guaranteed prize pool of €500,000 thanks to an additional 114 entries in the turbo re-entry Day 1d, creating a prize pool of €549,990 here at Casino Schenefeld.

Only 213 players remain in contention to become the new PokerStars Festival Main Event champion and more than half of them will leave the tables empty-handed, as just the top 79 spots are guaranteed to take home at least €1,870 for their efforts. Leading the field of survivors is Rudolf Köster with 258,000 followed by 1b chip leader Matthias Rauscher (241,000), [Removed:321] Qusim (232,700) and Michal Lubas (222,000) are close behind.

Other notables still in contention with a big stack upon restart include 1c chip leader Johann Kroon (214,200), 1d chip leader Behzad Zarnegar (191,600), Francois Mittertreiner (188,900), Roberto Manfredi (157,000), Ali Sameeian (145,500), WSOP bracelet winner Adrian Apmann (136,700), UKIPT5 Isle of Man champion Daniel Stacey (130,200) and Andrey Andreev (112,900).

The red spade will be represented by PokerStars Team Pro Marcin Horecki (26,800) and Team Online's Felix Schneiders (22,100), but both have a lot of work ahead for today after bagging up fewer than the starting stack on Day 1c.

Derkowski Busts to Becker

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Grzegorz Derkowski
Grzegorz Derkowski

Tim Becker was moved to table 17 not long ago to fill the vacant one seat and was among two players to call the shove for 29,000 by Grzegorz Derkowski, the other one was Joseph Lalor. On the {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, Becker moved all in for around 60,000 and Lalor let go.

Grzegorz Derkowski: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Tim Becker: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

The {9-Clubs} turn and {6-Clubs} were of no help and Derkowski was eliminated. Felix Schneiders on the same table enjoyed a good start and has doubled his stack without showdown.

Mittertreiner Running Smoothly

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Francois Mittertreiner
Francois Mittertreiner

The live reporting team just saw Francois Mittertreiner stack up a bunch of chips and his friend showed us the photo of what had happened. Mittertreiner himself turned around to tell us the story of the hand against Kyriakos Mitsopoulos:

"5,400 bet with 4 callers pre-flop. The flop came {K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, he bet 13,200, I raised to 29,200, he three-bet me. I shoved, he called. I had {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} but he had {10-}{10-}. The turn was the {q-Clubs} and the river was the {9-Hearts}. So I hit runner-runner straight."

PokerStars Festival Hamburg: Good first level for Team Pro

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Marcin Horecki
Marcin Horecki

The red spade is represented on two fronts here at PokerStars Festival Hamburg this week, one from Team Online and one from Team Pro. Both made it through to Day 2 today but in trouble as each of them came back with fewer chips than they started with on Day 1.

PokerStars Team Pro Online Felix Schneiders - 22,100 (9bb)
PokerStars Team Pro Marcin Horecki - 26,800 (11bb)

Having a good first level was important for both players, and we're happy to report that's exactly what happened. By the time the tournament ticked over into the second level of the day, the two of them were sat behind six figure stacks.

Ayoub Cracks Aces

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Jules Ayoub
Jules Ayoub

Jules Ayoub defended his big blind against a raise by Alexey Bratishchev and check-called a bet on the {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop. On the {4-Hearts} turn, Ayoub checked and Bratishchev made it 30,000 to go, then called the shove of Ayoub.

Alexey Bratishchev: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}
Jules Ayoub: {J-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

The {3-Diamonds} on the river failed to save the Russian and an excited Ayoub jumped up from the seat before collecting the chips.

Sigel Busts Schneiders

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Felix Schneiders
Felix Schneiders

Felix Schneiders doubled with pocket nines versus pocket queens and faced a raise to 11,000 by Jan Sigel in the hijack the next hand. Behzad Zarnegar called in the cutoff and Schneiders came along from the button, as did the big blind. The flop fell {Q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} and the big blind checked, Sigel bet 27,000 and Schneiders was the only caller.

On the {3-Spades} turn, Sigel checked and Schneiders moved all in, Sigel quickly called. Schneiders showed {J-Spades}{10-Spades} for a flush and Sigel had {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} to spike the {9-Spades} on the river.

Kroon Busts Before the Money

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Johann Kroon
Johann Kroon

Hand 1

Johann Kroon raised from under the gun and Karolis Domarkas called out of the big blind. On the {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop, Domarkas check-raised and Kroon called before the {4-Diamonds} appeared on the turn. Domarkas pushed for 113,000 and Kroon called.

Karolis Domarkas: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Johann Kroon: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The {9-Clubs} on the river failed to improve Kroon and he was sent all the way down to 50,000.

Hand 2

A few hand slater, Anders Bisgard raised to 12,000 and Kroon pushed for 74,000, the Dane called.

Johann Kroon: {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Anders Bisgard: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The flop of {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} improved Bisgard and he stayed in the lead on the {5-Clubs} turn and {7-Hearts} river to eliminate Kroon.

Steinfeuer Takes Two Out

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Dieke Meyer was just moved to this table as he moved all in from early position. [Removed:431] three-bet to 17,000 from the hijack. Christoph Milbradt four-bet to 56,000. Steinfeuer five-bet and Milbradt then instantly six-bet shoved. Steinfeuer called.

[Removed:431]: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Christoph Milbradt: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Dieke Meyer: {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{9-Spades} - the dealer counted out Steinfeuer's stack and he had 220,500 behind. Milbradt immediately got up from the table and left. Meyer smiled and also went to the rail.

Fabian Fleischmann Bubbles the Main Event

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Fabian Fleischmann Bubbles the Main Event
Fabian Fleischmann Bubbles the Main Event

Johannes Schulze raised to 275,000 from the cutoff, having everyone behind including PokerStars Team Pro Marcin Horecki in the small blind easily covered. Fabian Fleischmann was in the big blind and had stalled the last ten hands. That reduced his stack to a mere 10,000 in total and if he would have folded, he'd be forced all in from the small blind the next hand.

He called with the words "I guess you gotta experience everything once, even the bubble boy atmosphere" and the table waited until everyone was done with their current hand. Once that was the case, the cards were tabled.

Fabian Fleischmann: {J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Johannes Schulze: {K-Spades}{6-Spades}

The board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Fleischmann briefly sat back down after the river before realising that he was indeed the bubble boy.

Set-Under-Set Debacle for Hornung

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Maximilian Hornung
Maximilian Hornung

Raffael Targowski raised to 16,000 and Maximilian Hornung called on the button, as did Alaettin Keles in the small blind and De Han Kim in the big blind.

The flop fell {J-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades} and the action was checked to Hornung who bet 44,000. Keles check-raised to 125,000 and Kim as well as Targowski folded. Hornung moved all in for what appeared to be 390,000 in total, and Keles snap-called.

Maximilian Hornung: {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Alaettin Keles: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Neither the {A-Hearts} turn nor the {Q-Diamonds} river brought a miracle for Hornung and he was sent to the rail.
