Choi Finds the Call Button

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Young Ki Choi bet 10,500 from second position on a {k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades} board, and his opponent under the gun tanked and called for most of his stack. On the {3-Diamonds} river, Choi's opponent shoved all in. It was 10,250, and Choi was given serious pause. He thought for a couple of minutes.

"Ace-king?" he asked. "Ace-king is good."

Eventually someone called a clock, and with two seconds left before his hand was dead, Choi plopped in some calling chips. The under-the-gun player rolled over pocket sevens, and Choi showed {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} to take the pot.

Utsunomiya Doubles Through Hibuse

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

With about 4,000 chips already in the middle and the board reading {8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, the big blind checked to Emi Hibuse in middle position and she bet 2,000. Ryuichi Utsunomiya called from the button and the big blind folded.

The turn brought the {9-Diamonds} and Hibuse bet 5,000. Utsunomiya went into the tank for about a minute before he raised to 11,900, and then it was Hibuse's turn to give her decision some thought. After nearly a minute, she called.

The {3-Spades} fell on the river and Hibuse bet what looked like about 17,000, enough to put Utsunomiya to a decision for his stack. He called instantly. Hibuse showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and Utsunomiya flipped over {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} for the nut boat to take the pot and double up.

Park Over Yotsushika

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

With about 4,000 chips already in the middle and the board reading {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, Jason Park checked from under the gun to his lone opponent, recent High Roller runner-up Kazuhiko Yotsushika, who was next to act. Yotsushika checked behind.

The turn brought the {6-Clubs} and Park bet 2,500. Yotsushika called.

The {Q-Hearts} fell on the river and Park bet once more, 6,000 this time. After some thought, Yotsushika called and Park quickly tabled {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for top two pair. Yotsushika sent his cards into the muck and Park took the chips.

Qu Holds Against Two Outs

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Boyuan Qu had 5,200 in front of him when we got to his table, which looked like a check-raise as the pot had 4,500 or so in it. Qu was in early position on the {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop, and Qu's opponent a couple of seats over slid in 11,000. Qu responded with an all-in shove for 18,900, and his opponent called.

Qu: {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Qu just needed to fade an ace and did so as the {k-Spades} and {5-Spades} hit.
