Joe Johnson Shoots Down Arron Fletcher

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Arron Fletcher opened from under the gun for 2,900 before Joe Johnson on the button raised to 6,700. The blinds folded and it was back on Fletcher who raised to 16,200.

Johnson moved all in and Fletcher called to see the bad news. Johnson had {a-Clubs}{a-Spades} while Fletcher needed a whole heap of luck with his {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

It didn’t come as the board ran out {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and the aces held to bust Fletcher.

Updated Counts - Nelson Two Outered

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Just when the players headed out of the tournament room to go into their break, Ian Nelson walked by and said "you missed it, 150k pot kings versus queens - he flopped a queen." The opponent that wasn't done stacking yet is Tiago Freitas, who joined the chip leaders.

Cody and Pagano Thriving

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On the button, Luca Pagano raised to 2,200. The small blind called and David Penly then shoved out of the big blind for what looked like 24,500. Pagano called and the small blind quickly let go.

David Penly: {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Luca Pagano: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The board came {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Penly eventually failed to complete a gutshot.

Another PokerStars Team Pro is thriving, as Jake Cody has built his stack up even more. Darren Delahunty next to him went the other way around and just became one of the recent casualties.

Moorman Small Blind Squeeze

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Lucas Blanco opened for 2,300 from early position and picked up two late position callers before Chris Moorman raised to 8,700.

Blanco picked up the remainder of his stack, 30,400 and put it out in front of him. The two callers and Moorman threw in their hands.

Zarco busts Perez Torres; Mortensen Also Gone

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On the heads-up flop of {Q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, Alejandro Perez Torres got the remainder of his short stack in with {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts} and fellow countryman Javier Zarco looked him up with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. The turn and river were both blanks and Perez Torres was eliminated. He exchanged a few quick words with Zarco before leaving the table and Morten Mortensen followed him on the way out a few minutes later from the very same table.

More News from the "Lounge"

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The final numbers for the event are currently confirmed and it looks like there have been 178 entries in total. Almost 50 participants have been eliminated and there are just three tables left in the "Lounge", the secondary tournament area.

Among them are Jonathan Clark, Daniel Wilson, David Urban and Niall Farrell. Clark is no longer the biggest stack, as Urban has more than him. And then there is also Franck Makaci, who registered at the last minute and managed to spin up his stack a lot. The latest hand saw him bet 4,500 on the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} turn after Wilson checked out of the big blind.

Both then checked the {A-Diamonds} river and Wilson showed {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for queen-high with a ten kicker. Makaci had the {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades} for the better kicker and claimed the pot.

Niall Farrell is down to less than 10 big blinds. The Scotsman bet the {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{A-Spades} turn for 2,600 and the big blind check-called before Farrell then checked behind the {3-Diamonds} river. He turned over king-queen and the big blind had {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a full house.

[Removed:532] Battles Pierre Neuville

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

[Removed:532], a PokerStars Team Pro from India opened the betting for 1,700 and faced a three-bet to 4,000 from Pierre Neuville. Agarwai thought it over before he called.

The flop was {a-Hearts}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Agarwi check-called a bet of 5,600 from Neuville. The turn card {2-Hearts} saw both players check before the {8-Diamonds} completed the board.

[Removed:550] check, Neuville bet 9,000 and [Removed:550] called.

Neuville showed {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} while [Removed:550] tabled {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. Chop it up.
