Alfie Adam Upsets Wadey

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Alfie Adam
Alfie Adam

Alfie Adam opened the action and two short stacks moved all in behind him. Waheed Ashraf called the largest all in and Adam responded by moving all in over the top of him.

“Why did you do that?” Wadey wanted to know of Adam.

Another player objected to the talking during a multi-way pot but Ashraf pointed out that there was no more action. The floor was called and it was established that he could not talk in the pot even though three players were all in.

Ashraf threw his hand in and was aghast when he saw Adam turn over {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. He was up against the {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and {k-Spades}{q-Clubs} of the at risk players.

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Adam collected the pot busting two players.

“You want to be careful,” Wadey continued at Adam, “Someone else could have called you with my hand.”

“I had to protect my hand.” Adam explained.

That pot pushed Adam to around 135,000.

A Nightmare of a Hand

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On the table of Kully Sidhu, a hand just took place that may cause some nightmares still. After some preflop action, Martin Schoettke and table neighbor Tristan Maclaren invested 8,000 on the {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop. On the {2-Spades} turn, Schoettke wanted to go all in but didn't say anything and pushed forward his stack in two movements.

The dealer stopped right there and said that only the first move counted as bet, which amounted to 15,000. Maclaren wanted to push all in, but didn't say anything either and splashed in 15,000 - exactly how much the call would be. The {6-Hearts} then came on the river and suddenly Schoettke checked, causing different reactions at the table. Maclaren pushed all in and Schoettke folded ... with 4,000 behind.

Maclaren showed {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} to claim the pot and Schoettke busted soon after.

Stephen Hendry Eliminated

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Stephen Hendry
Stephen Hendry

After a raise from under the gun to 2,100 and a call by Jitesh Mistry in the hijack, James Koumis on the button raised to 7,000. Stephen Hendry moved all in for 20,000 from the big blind and the action folded back to Koumis, who called.

Stephen Hendry: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
James Koumis: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

"Red cards please," Hendry said towards the dealer but his wish wasn't granted on a board of {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Spades}{Q-Hearts} to chop it up.

Less than one orbit later, Koumis opened to 2,500 and Lucy Gamble called. Hendry shoved for around 16,000 and Koumis moved all in himself to force Gamble out of the pot.

Stephen Hendry: {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
James Koumis: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}

After a board of {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs}, Hendry failed to improve and was eliminated.

Banerji Busts One

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

From under the gun, a short stack pushed for his last 16,700 and the action folded to Shantanu Banerji in the hijack. He asked for a count and called, all other opponents folded.

"Jacks," the short stack announced and Banerji turned over {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} to see {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} appear on the other side of the table. Despite being ahead, the short stack seemed to know his fate and said "I need some luck" only for the flop to fall {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. The {5-Diamonds} turn and {10-Clubs} river were blanks and Banerji added some more to his stack.

Boeree With Queens

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

PokerStars Team Pro Liv Boeree opened for 2,400 and faced a three-bet to 6,200 from Harald Olsen on the button. Boeree made the call.

The flop was {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Boeree check-called a bet of 8,000 from Olsen.

The turn card was the {10-Clubs} which got checked around and on the river {9-Clubs} Boeree bet 16,000.

Olsen called so Boeree showed {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} and Olsen {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}.

Straight on board chopped the pot.

Guess Cody’s Stack

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Pokerstars Team Pro Jake Cody has tweeted that the person who guess closest to how many chips he finishes with today will get 1% of his action and the top 12 closest will win a PokerStars hip flask.

There are a flood of guesses already with quite a few opting for zero. Shame on you!
