Among the big names to join somewhat late was Matt Perrins and he managed to receive a seat in the main room, overlooking the Hippodrome Casino when he turns around. He just got involved into a small pot as initial raiser on the button and the big blind defended.
On the flop, the big blind check-called a bet of 700 and checked again the turn. Perrins fired a second bet of 1,500 and that was enough to win the pot.
With four players heading to the turn and around 14,000 in the middle, two players in early position and Florian-Dimitrie Duta in the cutoff checked. The button bet 8,000 and just Pavlos Katsikidis called, Duta folded. The river saw Katsikidis check and the button quickly checked behind.
PokerStars offered players the opportunity to qualify to the PokerStars Festival London Main Event through their popular Spin and Go format. John McGlynn was the first to do so and the PokerStars Blog sat down with him for a chat.
Alessio Sabatini opened the betting from the cut-off and James Akenhead three-bet from the big blind. Back to Sabatini who four-bet to 3,500. Akenhead jammed for around 18,000 and Sabatini called.
Sabatini had Queens and Akenhead had six-five off suit.
The queens held up and Akenhead was done before the first break of the day.
