Tran Busts Gosavi in Big Flip

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

A standard raise to 5,500 by Badri Kedar Gosavi was met with the three-bet shove of Linh Tran in the big blind and Gosavi quickly called with just under 100,000 in chips.

Badri Kedar Gosavi: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Linh Tran: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

As soon as the {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop fell, Gosavi shook his head and needed one of the two remaining queens in the deck. Nothing much changed on that scenario despite Tran improving to trips on the {A-Spades} turn, and a blank {5-Clubs} river sent Gosavi to the rail.

Big Stacks Coming into Last Level

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

This is the last level of the day and it looks as though it is currently Michael Brunner leading the charge after that aces versus kings cooler against Antti Halme with a stack of roughly 220,000.

Other notable stacks include Germany’s Andre Peters (213,000), Linh Tran (200,000), Shinji Katsushima (150,000) and Andy Xueyan Li (150,000).

Mooney Gets Lucky

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Geoff Mooney called a bet of 7,000 on the {7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop when sitting on the button before the {4-Clubs} turn was checked. Mooney faced another bet of 11,000 on the {4-Hearts} river and called only to get shown {A-Spades}{3-Spades} for the wheel.

Soon after, the Aussie moved in for his last 18,300 and the player from one seat over called with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. Mooney only had {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, but improved to trips on the board {J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{J-Hearts} to double up.

Chainani Takes From Falcon

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Michael Falcon has fallen off slightly and has just passed some chips the way of Dhane Chainani. We picked up the action on the turn with the board reading {6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs} with 10,000 in blinds and antes already in the pot.

Falcon, sitting in middle position, led out for a pot-sized 10,000 and Chainani made a quick call on the button. The {q-Hearts} river completed the hand and saw Falcon check the action over to Chainani, who bet 15,300.

“I missed my flush,” said Falcon as he tossed his hand away.

The Danish player flashed Chainani a card, but we could not see it from where we were standing and Falcon dropped to 177,000 while Chainani climbed to around 165,000.

Halme Doubles With Aces; Busts With Kings

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Antti Halme in the High Roller Event
Antti Halme in the High Roller Event

Antti Halme doubled to around 58,000 when the remainder of his stack went in with {A-Hearts}{A-Spades} against {Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} on the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds} turn and the {10-Hearts} river was a blank.

Right the very next hand, Michael Brunner raised to 3,200 and Van Tran Thanh three-bet to 9,100. Halme four-bet to 22,000 and Brunner moved all in. Thanh asked for a count on Brunner's shove, which amounted to 113,300, and reluctantly folded, while Halme called to put himself at risk.

Antti Halme: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Michael Brunner: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}

The {A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} left the Finn virtually dead and in need of running kings for a miracle. It was all over after the {Q-Diamonds} turn and the {4-Clubs} river completed the board.

Recovery by Gruendemann

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The short break of Tse Ian Lee had ended and he was back in his seat, however that didn't last long as he just joined the rail. Lee got his remaining stack in preflop with the {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Mark Gruendemann only had one over card with {A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

The board however came {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{10-Hearts} and that was it for Lee.

Chainani Doubles With Kings

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Tse Ian Lee raised to 4,500 and Mark Gruendemann three-bet to 13,000 from the cutoff. One seat over, Dhane Chainani four-bet to 29,500 and Lee eventually folded before Gruendemann moved all in. Chainani quickly called and the cards were turned over.

Dhane Chainani: {K-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Mark Gruendemann: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}

The board came {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and Chainani doubled for 68,900, while Lee stepped away from the table. "Three pocket pairs, I folded pocket nines and need a break," he said.

Takayama Busts Muthu

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Mike Takayama opened the action with an under-the-gun raise, a short-stacked Sathesh Muthu moved all-in from the small blind and Takayama called quickly.

Muthu, holding {a-}{q-} was trailing to Takayama’s {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} and found no help on the ace-high flop, with Takayama spiking a king on the river to make to pair just to put the final nail in the High Roller Shot Clock runner-up’s Day 1b coffin.

Chong and Le Build Stacks

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Victor Chong called down hefty bets with queen-ten against pocket nines when finding a queen on the flop.

One table over, Trung Hieu Le also gained some chips when raising from under the gun and facing opposition by the player in the big blind. On the {K-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} turn, Le's bet of 12,000 was check-called before the {J-Hearts} fell on the river. The big blind checked with a stack of 42,300 and Le moved all in, forcing a reluctant fold to avoid a showdown.
