Pogodin and Sushant Eliminated

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Konstantin Pogodin's miracle recovery found a sudden end when he flipped for the tournament life with {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} against the {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} of Van Sang Nguyen. The latter spiked a set on the {6-Hearts}{K-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop, and the {J-Diamonds} turn and {6-Clubs} river were both blanks.

Aditya Sushant followed suit shortly after on table one when Sathesh Muthu's run good continued with quads, while Timofey Asmolov folded pocket jacks face up during the same hand.

Muthu Tears Up Orpaz

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Tom Orpaz Slips Early on Day 2
Tom Orpaz Slips Early on Day 2

Tom Orpaz dropped down even further in the counts before he clashed with Aditya Sushant on a {q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} flop. Orpaz turned out to be the player at risk with {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for top pair only to find himself up against the {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} of Sushant. The {k-Clubs} turn improved Orpaz and the {9-Clubs} river was a blank to let Orpaz sigh with relief.

His fortune didn't last long, as he got into another big pot with Sathesh Muthu and bet 25,000 on the {10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds} turn before check-folding to a shove of Muthu on the {9-Hearts} river. He was shown {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a full house by Muthu and said "wow, what a safe, I had an overpair."

Pogodin In Need of a Miracle

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Sparrow Cheung re-entered and that brought the number of entries up to 47, while his new table provided some fireworks.

On a flop of {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Konstantin Pogodin and Hermann Lee got into a raising war with near-identical stacks and Pogodin turned over {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}. Lee had {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for the flush draw and straight draw, and immediately got there on the {5-Hearts} turn. On top of that, Lee even improved to a flush on the {8-Clubs} river and Pogodin was left with a mere 700 chips. He first quadrupled up and then tripled up with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} versus {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Cheung Hits the Rail

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

On a flop of {7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, Alex Lee in late position called a bet of 14,000 by Hoa Thinh Nguyen on the button and checked again the {9-Clubs} on the turn. Nguyen moved all in for effectively 55,000, as that's what Lee had left, and Lee folded after having used one time-bank.

Over on table three, Sparrow Cheung moved all in for the second hand in a row. This time, he found a caller as Ken Okada re-shoved from the button with slightly more chips.

Sparrow Cheung: {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Ken Okada: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

The board came {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and the kicker played to eliminate Cheung.

Burns Arrives and Chips Up

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Aditya Sushant and Simon Burns registered a few moments ago to bump up the attendance to 45 entries. Burns was immediately in the big blind and faced a raise to 5,000 by Alex Lee on the button. Burns three-bet to 12,000 and Lee called to see a flop of {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}. The continuation bet of 9,000 by Burns forced a fold from Lee and the table was shown {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} by the Brit.

Orpaz Drops Two Pots

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Tom Orpaz found himself at a table with fellow big stacks and took two hits to the stack early on to surrender the chip lead.

First he called a bet of 13,000 by Lester Edoc on the {8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts} turn and did so again for 18,000 on the {q-Diamonds} river. Edoc showed {k-Hearts}{10-Spades} and that won the pot.

Soon after, Sathesh Muthu check-raised a flop of {j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} from 10,000 to 26,000 out of the big blind and Orpaz called. The {9-Clubs} fell on the turn and Muthu's bet of 25,000 was called before the {a-Hearts} river resulted in a bet of 40,000 by Muthu and a fold by Orpaz.

Pogodin More Than Doubles

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Van Sang Nguyen raised to 5,000 from the hijack and Konstantin Pogodin moved all in for 31,200 from the cutoff. Sparrow Cheung asked for a count and moved all in over the top from the small blind, which forced a fold from Nguyen with {A-Spades}{J-Hearts} being sent to the muck face up.

Konstantin Pogodin: {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Sparrow Cheung: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

The board came {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Pogodin got there with aces and tens to more than double up. Over on table four, Alex Lee also won a few pots to almost double his stack early on.
