Welcome to Day 1 of the €5,300 King's High Roller in Rozvadov

King's Casino
King's Casino

It's time for the 2017 PokerStars Festival Rozvadov! King's Casino, the heart and soul of the small municipality in the Czech Republic, once again sets the stage for an exciting series of events. The PokerStars Festival kicked off last week with the Pokerstars Open, a €275 Single Re-entry tournament with a staggering guarantee of €100,000. Germany's Fabian Cumz emerged victoriously and turned his modest investment into a sweet payday of €25,010.

It's the second PokerStars Festival on European soil since it's incarnation. In January, Rehman Kassam walked away with the trophy and £89,320 ($111,638) at the inaugural event in London. The runner-up Daniel Harwood, who claimed £95,000 after a chop, is here in Rozvadov to take a shot at more Festival glory.

Today at 6 p.m. local time, the €5,300 King's High Roller will kick off. Plenty of big names have already been spotted here in 'RozVegas'. King's Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik, Theo Jorgensen, Jan-Peter Jachtmann, Marcin Horecki, Martin Kabrhel, Martin Staszko, Jonas Lauck, Eugene Katchalov and none other than Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier are around and expected to take a seat today.

Players will start with 50,000 in chips and levels will be 40 minutes throughout the tournament. It's one for the deep pockets, as unlimited rebuys will be allowed until the start of Day 2 at 5 p.m. tomorrow. The winner will be crowned later that night. PokerNews will provide start-to-finish coverage of this exciting event, as well as tomorrow's €1,100 PokerStars Festival Main Event and the €2,200 PokerStars High Roller later this week.
