ElkY Doubles Up

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier was down to twelve big blinds and got it preflop all in against Luca Stevanato.

Bertrand Grospellier: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Luca Stevanato: {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

ElkY was in prime position to double up, but the {K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades} swung Stevanato to a huge lead in the hand. The {10-Hearts} on the turn opened up extra outs for Grospellier, and one of those came in on the {J-Diamonds} river. Grospellier rivered a straight and doubled up.

Break

The field is on their last fifteen-minute break of the day. After this break, two more levels of 40 minutes will be played until the chips are bagged and tagged for the night.

Chip Counts (full)

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Viliyan Petleshkov busted at the hands of Aviv Meiri and reentered right away.

[Removed:197] Flips Out

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

[Removed:197] came in with a raise from under the gun. Steven Thompson, the world traveller from Costa Rica who just flew in from Cyprus, three-bet to 3,800. Marcin Chmielewski, who is on his second bullet, four-bet to 13,500. [Removed:198] shoved for 42,000, Thompson folded and Chmielewski called.

[Removed:197]: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Marcin Chmielewski: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

[Removed:198] took a big lead on the {K-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} flop, but the {Q-Spades} on the turn gave Chmielewski a straight. The river {8-Hearts} didn't turn it around for [Removed:198], who can still reenter until the start of Day 2.

Kabrhel Busts, Reenters and Doubles

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

The volatile Martin Kabrhel has seen every spot on the leaderboard today, but after chipleading for a short while his first attempt ended up short.

Kabrhel was all-in with his last chips holding {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} on an {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{J-Diamonds} board. Vladimir Troyanovskiy called with {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and held up after the {7-Clubs} on the turn and {6-Hearts} on the river.

With his second bullet, Kabrhel quickly found himself at risk again. Holding {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}, the Czech saw a flop of {Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} appear. Aviv Meiri and Marian Fridrich checked, Kabrhel bet 11,500, Meiri check-raised to 26,500, Fridrich folded and Kabhrel shoved for slightly more.

Meiri quickly called it off with {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and had plenty of outs to win the hand. The {6-Hearts} on the turn was exactly what Kabrhel needed, rendering Meiri's flush draw obsolete and left his opponent drawing to the remaining kings. The river was the {10-Hearts} and Kabrhel doubled up.

Meiri Drops Chmielewski

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Aviv Meiri
Aviv Meiri

Aviv Meiri's second attempt has been nothing short of a success story so far. The Israeli launched himself to the chiplead after taking care of Marcin Chmielewski in a big pot.

On a {Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop, there was around 13,000 in the middle when Meiri bet 12,400. Chmielewski moved all in for 66,300 and Meiri called it off.

Marcin Chmielewski: {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Aviv Meiri: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The {3-Diamonds} on the turn changed nothing, but the {A-Spades} on the river gave Meiri the winner and the knockout.

Not ElkY's Day Yet

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier raised to 1,700, which got called in four places including Tomas Soderstrom to his direct left and Eugene Katchalov in the big blind.

The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and ElkY continued with a bet of 3,200. Soderstrom flicked in two T-5,000 chips and raised to a slightly lesser, unknown exact amount. All the other players quickly folded, including ElkY.
