After several days of poker action, we're picking up coverage for Day 2 of the PokerStars Open Manchester £1,100 Main Event, running at the Deansgate Hotel and hosted by Hippodrome Casino.

After four starting flights, Ian Simpson is heading into Day 2 as the chip leader with 306,500, an astounding run considering the seasoned pro already won Wednesday's High Roller championship. He's trailed by Michael Wharton, who sits in second with 264,000. Also in the top ten are Terrance Reid, Nathan Slater, and Tuan Le.

Other notable players who bagged for Day 2 include previous UKIPT champions Artus Gimenez (64,500), Brett Angell (62,000) and Robbie Bull (43,000), Jack Hardcastle (133,000), Andrew Hulme (81,500), Barny Boatman (74,000) and PokerStars Ambassador Kenny Hallaert (39,350).

The PS Open Main Event attracted 852 total entries across all four starting flights. Late registration remains open until the start of Day 2, at which point the entry numbers and overall prize pool will be confirmed, along with payouts later in the day. Unless close to 150 players register in the morning, the tournament could well overlay.

Day 2 will resume on Level 11 with blinds at 1,000/1,500/1,500 and levels increase every 60-minutes. It's expected that the tournament will run for 10 levels before players bag for Day 3.

For those who didn't make it through, there's lots of off-felt fun to be had, including a Game Night with bowling and shuffleboard going down at Lane 7 at 20:30.
