Tim Hanssen opened to 30,000 from early position, and received a call from Krzysztof Grubka in the hijack, before Jason Barton produced a three-bet to 110,000 from the cutoff. Hanssen got out of the way, but Grubka called.
On the 9♥6♦5♣ flop, Grubka quickly check-folded versus a bet of 130,000 from Barton.
Life Outside Poker is a podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.
In the 28th episode, Connor talks with Canadian high-stakes pro Sam Greenwood about getting into poker with his two brothers Lucas Greenwood and Max Greenwood, running up a bankroll in high school, traveling the world playing high-stakes tournaments, climbing Canada's all-time money list and battling with Vladimir "Gambledore" Korzinin at Triton.
Greenwood also talked about the state of online poker, how to deal with cheaters, being a dad and his new "Punt of the Day" blog where he breaks down key hands from high-stakes tournaments.
A pot of 95,000 had developed on a flop of K♥J♦10♥, in a hand between Ranno Sootla on the button and Felix Schneiders in the big blind, with Schneiders check-calling a bet of 25,000 from Sootla.
The 5♥ hit on the turn, and Schneiders couldn't withstand a double-barrel of 80,000 from his opponent.
Samuel Bovy jammed for 155,000 from the cutoff, and was called by Jozef Cibicek after he asked for a count and a brief period of deliberation.
Samuel Bovy: K♠Q♥
Jozef Cibicek: 3♠3♣
Bovy needed some help, and gained further outs to the straight after the A♠10♣4♥ flop. The A♥ turn added some more, as he could now counterfeit Cibicek.
The river favored the Slovakian however, as he improved to a full house with the 3♦.
