Csik Eliminated by Marques as "Boston Rob" Fails to Survive

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Roberto Perez limped from early position and Andre Marques raised to 55,000 before Christoph Csik three-bet jammed for 66,000 on the button. Both blinds folded as did Perez and Marques called.

Christoph Csik: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Andre Marques: {k-Clubs}{5-Spades}

The flop landed {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts} before the {5-Hearts} turn that gave Marques a pair. The {6-Clubs} river completed the board and the 2023 PCA Main Event final tablist made his exit with the money bubble looming.

Around the same time, Survivor superstar "Boston" Rob Mariano exited the tournament.

Death by Quads Again for Conniff

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Asher Connif
Asher Connif

Asher Conniff was down to around 80,000 chips and he moved all in from the cutoff. Armin Rezaei woke up with a reasonable holding in the big blind and called to put Conniff at risk.

Asher Conniff: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Armin Rezaei: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

The flop fell {j-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Rezaei flopped quads to leave Conniff nearly drawing dead. The {9-Clubs} on the turn confirmed his fate and Conniff headed to the rail. Conniff was also eliminated by quads at the WSOP Main Event, but this time he will be leaving empty-handed.

Luca Venturini jammed for 62,000 from the hijack and was called by Andre Marques on his direct left.

Maquillon Tanks With Ace-High

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Esteban Maquillon was in the big blind in a heads-up pot against Renato Minicuci on a flop of {5-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Maquillon checked on the flop and Minicuci bet 43,000. Maquillon check-raised to 86,000 and Minicuci quickly called. Maquillon then checked on the {8-Hearts} turn and Minicuci checked back.

Maquillion checked again on the {j-Spades} river and Minicuci bet 150,000 for a big chunk of Maquillion's stack, sending the Platinum Pass winner into a tank that lasted around five minutes as the camera crew worked its way to the table.

"Flush draw? Ace-high win?" Maquillon asked, before folding what later said thought was the best hand.
