Mulder Doubles with a Set of Queens

Level 24 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Teun "tinnoemulder" Mulder was down to less than three big blinds last blind level. He got some breathing room with a triple up and more recently catapulted back to the middle of the pack after the following hand.

Alexandros "Pwndidi" Theologis opened for 140,000 from the hijack before he called a jam by Mulder from the button to 873,518.

Teun "tinnoemulder" Mulder: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Alexandros "Pwndidi" Theologis: {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

Theologis flopped a flush draw on the {5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop but he never got there on the {7-Spades} turn or the {q-Clubs} river and Mulder doubled up with a set of queens.

Simon "C. Darwin2" Mattsson Eliminated in 11th Place ($25,601)

Level 24 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

The action is hand-for-hand for both the end of the day and the final table after Simon "C. Darwin2" Mattsson was eliminated in 11th place as follows.

Mattsson opened for 160,000 from the cutoff. Alexandros "mexican222" Kolonias three-bet to 520,000 from the small blind before he called a four-bet jam by Mattsson to 1,561,910.

Simon "C. Darwin2" Mattsson: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Alexandros "mexican222" Kolonias: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

The {9-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} board wasn't enough to push Mattsson ahead of the aces and he was eliminated in the money before the end of the day.

Benjamin "bencb789" Rolle Eliminated in 10th Place ($25,601)

Level 24 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Alexandros "mexican222" Kolonias opened for 160,000 from under the gun and Benjamin "bencb789" Rolle defended his big blind. Rolle jammed the {4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{q-Clubs} flop for 301,940. Kolonias used some of clock before he made the call.

Benjamin "bencb789" Rolle: {j-Spades}{3-Spades}
Alexandros "mexican222" Kolonias: {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}

Rolle looked like he would double and his odds increased for this to happen after the {k-Diamonds} turn. However, Kolonias improved to top pair on the {a-Hearts} river and Rolle was eliminated in 10th place on the final table bubble for $25,601.

The final nine players are on a break until Wednesday, Aug. 25 at 5:05 p.m. GMT. Each player will be guaranteed at least $30,610 payout with tomorrow's winner taking home a cool $232,739 barring any final table deals.

The 2021 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) showcased its largest buy-in event thus far this festival at PokerStars with Tuesday featuring the first of two days of the WCOOP 14-H: $10,300 NLHE High Roller. The tournament was another success with 101 entries including 35 re-entries squeaking past the $1,000,000 guarantee with a $1,010,000 prize pool.

The action was down to nine players to end the day after nearly 8 1/2 hours of play with a pair of Greek players on top in Alexandros "mexican222" Kolonias and Alexandros "Pwndidi" Theologis with both players going for their first WCOOP title.

The duo were also responsible for all the Day 1 eliminations that took place once the money was reached after both Daniel "Oxota" Dvoress and "vino la iubi" went out on the money bubble in the same hand to PokerStars Ambassador Benjamin "bencb789" Rolle, who eventually bubbled the final table to end the day.

Theologis eliminated Mike "SirWatts" Watson in 13th place for $21,412, while Kolonias took care of the final three players of the day in Rolle, Simon "C. Darwin2" Mattsson, and Jon "apestyles" Van Fleet for a $25,601 cash.
