After 12 levels of play, Chao Huang emerged as the Day 1 chip leader of Event #15: $1,200 5-Card PLO High Championship after bagging 550,000 in chips. Not far behind him is Marshall Roof, who managed to bag up 518,000 chips.

Huang flew under the radar for most of the day and had a late-night surge after eliminating Tony Moyers in the last level of the day. Huang will come into Day 2 in a great position to add to his $20,781 in live-tournament earnings, according to The Hendon Mob.

Day 1 began with 12 entrants and by the time late registration ended, that number had grown to 69 — generating a $75,900 prize pool. Some notables who entered but fell short of Day 2 include Robert McLaughlin, Dongwuk Moon, Michael Lerner, Pearce Arnold, and Event #4: $500 5-Card PLO champion Manuel Herrera, who couldn't seem to get any momentum and busted out earlier in the day without re-entering.

The final ten players will return on February 6 at 2 p.m. and play down to a winner. The money bubble will burst after two more players are eliminated. Here's what they will be playing for in addition to the championship trophy:

Arnold Can't Call

Level 12 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Action folded around to the blinds, where Pearce Arnold raised to 18,000 from the small. An Huang called from the big and the two saw a flop of {a-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}.

Pearce bet 36,000 and Huang quickly went all in for 61,000 total.

"Ooops," Pearce said as he re-checked his cards.

Pearce eventually let his hand go and Huang took down the pot uncontested.

The player in the hijack limped and Pearce Arnold raised to 15,000 from the button. Matt Mullins called in the big blind and the limper called as well.

Everyone checked on the {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop and it was checked to Arnold on the {9-Diamonds} turn — prompting a 20,000 bet from Arnold. Only Mullins called.

The {2-Spades} completed the board and Mullins checked a final time. Arnold bet 25,000 and was quickly called by Mullins.

Arnold showed {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades} for a flush and Arnold mucked — conceding the pot to Arnold.
