Apter Prevails in Cagey Encounter

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

A player opened to 900 from early position and was called by James Kraetz in middle position as well as a player in the cutoff. Brett Apter then three-bet to 4,300 on the button with the blinds quickly getting out of the way to send the action back to the early position player. He decided to four-bet to 11,900 which was met by prompt folds from Kraetz and the cutoff but not Apter who, after some deliberation, flatted.

The table had been quite chatty prior to the hand but as the two players went heads-up to the flop with a big pot brewing, all previous conversation died away. The early position player led out for 7,000 after the flop came {7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Apter decided to make the call.

The {7-Diamonds} turn saw the early position player check to Apter and he, after a fair amount of time, bet out 7,500. That sent the early position player deep into the tank but, with a slight sigh, he eventually mucked to send a decently large pot Apter's way.

Dentale and Dunn Chop One Up

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Ryan Dunn opened to 1,000 from under the gun and was called by Michael Dentale one seat over as well as Robert Cohen out of the small blind and the big blind player.

Action checked to Dentale on a flop of {7-Spades}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and he led out for 2,000. All three of his opponents called to keep action four-handed going to the turn.

The turn came {a-Spades} with Cohen, the big blind and Dunn all checking once again. Though he had received three callers on the flop, Dentale was in no mood slow down, instead making it 5,000 to go. As on the flop, none of his opponents were persuaded to fold.

For a third time, action was checked to Dentale after the {7-Hearts} river and for a third time he bet, firing off 15,000. That got two quick folds from Cohen and the big blind but Dunn opted to call, turning over {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} for top-top. Dentale revealed he too held big slick, tabling {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} to chop up the pot with Dunn. 'That's a big call' Dentale remarked as the dealer divided the pot, before continuing 'that is the worst hand I could have there'.

Robinson Calls Three Streets

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

A player opened to 800 on the button and Michael Robinson defended in the big blind.

Robinson checked to the button on a flop of {4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{q-Spades} and the initial raiser continued for 1,000. That bet was not enough to shed Robinson as he promptly made the call.

The {j-Diamonds} turn saw Robinson check for a second time and then once again call after his opponent fired a second barrel of 2,500.

Once the {k-Hearts} river completed the board, Robinson checked for a third time. The button took one last stab at the pot, pushing 6,000 into the middle. That, however, was unlikely to get Robinson to fold as he almost instantly called and tabled {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for two pair, eliciting a murmured 'good call' from the button player.

Bregger Gets Paid

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

A player opened to 800 on the button and was called by both the small blind and Jason Bregger in the big blind.

All three players checked through the {j-Clubs}{q-Spades}{a-Hearts} flop to the {5-Spades} turn. The small blind then checked for a second time before Bregger bet 1,200. The button called while the small blind folded to setup heads-up action heading to the river.

The {2-Clubs} rolled off the deck on the river, prompting Bregger to bet again, this time making it a slightly larger 3,200. His opponent mulled over his decision before opting to call. Bregger turned over {a-Spades}{2-Hearts} for the rivered two pair, which was good enough to take down the pot.

Polcer Makes Straight

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Picking up the action on the turn, Benjamin Polcer on the button was involved in a hand with a player in middle position. With the board reading {6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts} the middle position player led out for 4,000 and was called by Polcer.

The {5-Clubs} river put four to a straight on the board but that did not appear to concern the middle position player, who bet again, this time making it 10,000 to call. Polcer thought for some time before tossing in calling chips and turning over {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for the turned straight. 'Nice hand brother' said the middle position player as he conceded the pot to Polcer.

Kachittavong Loses Some

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

A player opened to 700 from middle position before Soukha Kachittavong three-bet to 2,700 from the cutoff. Action folded back around to the original raiser who flatted to see a flop.

The flop came {2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs} prompting the middle position player to check to Kachittavong who continued for 3,000. His opponent responded by check-raising to 6,100, a raise that Kachittavong quickly called.

The board pairing {2-Clubs} turn saw the middle position player check for a second time. Kachittavong, despite being raised on the flop, did not slow down, instead firing off 8,200. Although his opponent opted not to raise on this street, she did make the call to send the two players to the river.

The middle position player continued the pattern of the hand up to this point by checking one last time after the {8-Hearts} river completed the board. Kachittavong decided to shut things down at this point, checking back before mucking after his opponent tabled {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} to take a decent hit to his stack early in the day.
